TCD will it be back?

interesting, I wonder what they have planned?

I'd have thought they wont actually use the name going forward as it will weaken the virgin brand?

Not sure about that, personally I think it was a very strong brand, even though I only used them once(rarely do a 2 week hol) I would have no issues using them in future with Virgin backing. I think majority of people understand it was a group(XL) problem not TCD that brought it all down.

I didnt mean that TCD was regarded as a bad brand. I meant more that it would surely rather everyone travel under its Virgin Holiday brand rather than for it to have some under TCD and some under Virgin.

Depnds on their opinion of themselves, how well the market research division is doing, The last survey I filled in I told them exactly what I thought. If others feel the same they might want to trade under TCD with a good fanbase looking for good value holidays.
My opinion on Virgin Holidays is way overpriced, poor quality planes with bad record for delays. I am using them at Xmas for 1st time for over 2 years and will probaby be a few years before I use them again with the prices I am getting for Easter 2010.
Easter 2010 they are quoting about £3,500 for 3 of us on a 2 week hol at Fairfield Inn about double what I would be willing to pay.

I hope it does not effect Virgin Holiday using VS scheduled flights to MCO as that is my only direct option flying from Manchester. I like to fly into MCO to use disneys ME

The TCD website is up again with the backing of virgin , you can order next years brochure with them and it says the site will be up and running 5th january, i would go back with them.

with TCD being the only part of XL group making any money.it comes as no surprise its been bought up buy virgin.
How to offer cheaper holidays and not reduce your own prices, easy buy an allready known brand. that way it wont hurt your upper end buisnes
even though i detest Mr branson he has got his head screwd on properly
And with him planning on buying Gatwick makes even more sence

Just ordered a brochure, good to see TCD back used them 4 times in the past will use them again hope the standards are the same well done virgin:goodvibes :) :santa:

I wonder what planes they will use? If Virgin has only bought TCD then I assume they won't have the XL planes?

Looks like they have bought only their database and tradename

I wonder if this means we'll be able to book with TCD and pay with Tesco vouchers?

glad they are back, wonder if they will honour the cancelled flights that have not been re booked when xl went under, I have not got my money back yet for 2nd of jan flight but have re booked with virgin, i am sure we will be refunded eventually

Very unlikely since it will be a different abta and atol number.

Im actually really surprised they have used the same name because those not in the know might not realise they have been bought by virgin.

Gonna make my life a headache again though since Im a travel agent! (although we could usually match tcd prices, we just wouldnt make much money on them)

we flew TCD 6 times and never had a problem with anything including price!!! lets hope virging keep the ethics of TCD and offer a cheaper way of people getting the magic of a disney holiday..

im just glad its made some peoples jobs more secure which is great at this time of year on its own..

Can virgin really do prices cheaper than there own brochure?

We only flew with them once, a last minute hol and it was not cheap.
Everytime we did a 2 week hol we considered TCD and they were too expensive. I know people have had great deals with them but travelling in school hols thats what we found.

As for cheaper than with Virgin. It depends how they are going to run the business, so far we have not heard how they are going to fly people. I am wondering if Virgins current prices have been inflated to allow a cheaper(Virgins normal prices) brand(TCD). I have priced up for 2 weeks Easter 2010, for 2 weeks, 2 adults 1 teen, Fairfield Inn £3,550, that is just beyond expensive but it allows TCD to restart and beat Virgins prices.
