Hi! New to the boards and wondering about taking a taxi from my hotel (Doubletree by Downtown Disney) to MK. I know that my hotel has shuttles, but I am wondering if it would be more worth while to jump in a taxi. We are going to MK for 1 day at the end of March with our 4 yr old (his first time there) and I really didn't want to waste an hour or two on a bus and am willing to pay the taxi fare. If we do this do we need to make a reservation? Is it even possible to do this?

Does anyone know where the taxi's and buses drop off? Is it the main entrance, or is it further away and you have to take a train or another shuttle to the main entrance.

Thoughts? thanks for any advice.

Can't give you any idea of the cost. But, a cab will drop you at the TTC. Then, you will have to take either the monorail or the ferry boat over to MK.
Only Disney resort buses are allowed in closer to the park itself.

You can decide when you get there. Your hotel will have a bus schedule for each park, either posted, as a handout, or available a the front desk.

Yes, the six hotels share one bus, but the buses run on a schedule. This should include, if not the time they get to the destination park, at least the time they leave that park to head back to Hotel Plaza Boulevard - which should give you a pretty good idea how long it will take to get to the park from your resort. Or you could just ask.

A taxi might save you a few minutes, but will drop you at about the same location - and MAY charge you the $14 parking fee to enter the MK parking lot!
