when we go we are planning to go to seaworld and possiably gatorland and wondering about taxis .Will have 2 lightweight chairs but both are solid frames so only the back folds down and the wheels can be popped of on both.

How would we go about sorting out a taxi to accomidate this, sorry should mention can both transfer with ds walking few steps me none but can slide my butt in without a problem or needing help

Mears, which is the largest taxi company in the Orlando area (Yellow Cab, Checker Cab and City Cab), has over 20 accessible taxicabs. The price for them is the same as for any taxi. Normally it is a good idea to reserve them the day before, to be sure of availability. Their dispatch number is 407-422-2222. They also have some which are small vans instead of sedans.

I was going to suggest the same companies as Cheshire Figment and I also agree with his suggestion to call ahead of time. That would ensure the shortest wait.

By law they can't charge extra for an accessible taxi and they should have taxis that fit more than one occupied wheelchair and also have room for your daughter.

My DD's manual wheelchair is a Quickie GP, which folds the same as yours. We have rented a car in the past and it does fit in the trunk (boot) with the wheels popped off because it does not fold flat, there would not be room to get 2 similar wheelchairs in.

thank you

Ds chair is a quickie i have a kuschall and no we can not get them both in a normal car.Can not drive at the moment will need to sort out adapted car at home yet.But not worried about hiring one on holiday for the few journeys we will be doing .will be taxis

Am planning on asking seaworld if hey have Ecv to hire for a day then once we are there I can switch from manual to Ecv

Seaworld does have ECVs.
I am on my phone and it keeps going to Seaworld's mobile site, so I can't post a link right now.

I found this on another site, but I can't vouch that the phone number is Seaworld - it may be one of the local rental companies. I know Seaworld Orlando does rent ECVs though and has the information on their website - it's just not accessible from the mobile phone version.

"Parking for guests with disabilities is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.* The parking lot is located near the main entrance to the park, and all of the spaces are van-accessible.* These spaces require a parking permit.*

Are wheelchair rentals available?
Yes, rentals are available for wheelchairs and electric convenience vehicles (ECV’s) near the entrance to the park on the right side of Guest Services.* Rentals are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and you are able to reserve a rental up to 24 hours in advance by calling 1-888-800-5447."

Thank you so now know I can book Ecv day before and just transfer from my manual chair to ecv .i am really excite dnow thanks to all the help on here and other orum and Disney and the TA this trip is doable and really did not think it would be
