Taxi

Can anyone please tell me if Disney World has Taxi's that my family can use to get to the parks rather than using the buses, and if so, the cost. I love the buses on off peak times, but when it's busy you can wait for a bus for quite some lenght of time. We have always went on off peak times, but next year we are going in June and I am told that there could be an hour wait for a bus going to the parks. Thank you.

There are always taxis available - closer than the parking areas for cars and you just walk up and get in. I love them too...

I have been to the World for the last two Junes- I sayed at SSR and WL. We NEVER waited an hour for a bus- not going to or returning from the parks. I was even impressed with the service from SSR after reading soo many bad things here on the boards. Give it a try before you call a taxi.

We use taxis pretty frequently - maybe four or five times on a week long trip. Including tip, we generally spend around $15 to get from the Boardwalk to anywhere that is a distance - AKL or the MK or MK resorts. We tend to take them when we are tight for time or when we are too lazy to risk standing or when we are going from resort to resort.

I'd use a taxi to go to/from DTD, but WDW transportation otherwise.

We've used a taxi to go to dinner at other resorts from either SSR or OKW. Compared to renting a car and driving to and parking at the resort the 15 or 20 bucks per trip is pretty small.

So when one is leaving a park, where do locate a taxi? Do you have to call for one or is there a place they all line up at? WHen were at MK in April for the very first time, I do not recall seeing taxis waiting anywere. Counld that have been because we hopped on the monrail and headed to the Contemporary??? We are gong in Nov for our 1st trip home to AKV and debating on renting a car or trying the bus transp.

Taxi's for the MK are out at the TTC - its easier to walk to the Contemporary and have them call a cab from the bell stand (there are usually cabs waiting). All the parks have a cab stop, usually right up front in the parking lot.
