Taxi with kids?

No, I am not a town car driver. I think seat belts in vehicles should be worn. If you are never in an accident where you wore a seatbelt, you will never know what it is to have a seatbelt save your life. I have experienced that and it bothers me that people put off wearing them, only because they are inconvenient to buckle up or because someone or industry tells them the seatbelt or baby seats are not required. The airlines wear them when aircraft take off and land, the two most dangerous points in any flight. If you didn't halfway believe that a seatbelt may save your life than why do you buckle them up in your own private vehicle. Why do you accept an individual or industry saying "you don't need them," especially in vehicles they will be traveling 35 to 70 miles per hour. The nationwide "click it or ticket" program was put into law because it will save lives. Now, is one taxi driver, town car driver or whatever, who says "you don't need seat belts or baby seats, right." I don't believe so.

But you are a driver for a living, are you not? You've been campaigning against Disney's ME on other threads, basically saying parents are irresponsible if they use it since they can't use car seats.

You can't wear a seatbelt in a bus that doesn't have them. Taxis are tougher. I'm surprised Florida requires carseats in taxis; many states exempt them. It's probably a function of the fact that few people use taxis in Florida compared with the Northeast.

Of course I am and also semi-retired. Where do you think I get the experience and knowledge to speak out as I do on certain subjects. You can spin statements anyway you want, but the cold hard facts remain, anyway you spin them.
