My husband finally got me to agree to take a day for Universal's WWoHP. He gets 1 day and that's it. :)

Does anyone know the cost of a taxi from AKL to Universal Studios?
TIA

I called a few places, as we are thinking the same thing!
they said on a normal day it should be around $25 each way...

but i always add 15 to it, for traffic and tip.

That's pretty low. I would figure $40 to $45, plus tip. Each way.

It's about 15 miles. Current taxi fare in the Orlando area is $2.20 for the first 1/4 mile and then 55¢ for each additional 1/4 mile (or 80 seconds of waiting time). Plus a $0.50 surcharge on all rides (except the surcharge is $1.00 to or from the airport).

That gives you an absolute minimum of about $36, even without a single stoplight.

my DS's fare from coronado to Universal was $30 last summer (not in rush hour), plus tip each way. Many have reported it's now averaging $35 - $40 plus.

Might be worth it to consider renting a car either at care care center or dolphin for a day for convenience sake but you'd have to pay for parking

Dreams Unlimited sells Universal tix (2 parks, 1 day) with mears transportation approx $135 pp

Universal is grrrreat, enjoy!:goodvibes

A cab is going to be at least $40 each way, not including tips.

I'm not sure what a 'normal day' would be, or why there would be different pricing on certain days. I do know that most towncar companies charge about $40-50 for a one way ride from WDW to US/IoA. They usually run pretty close to the cab fares..otherwise, people would use cabs exclusively!!! I haven't seen any form of transport over to US/IoA for under $35 in years.

Thanks! I will look into that tonight.

I would consider looking into renting a car. I think for the cost of cab fare each way you could pretty near rent a car for a week. In February we rented a car from National for 10 days for $90

How long ago was that I have only gotten a 3 day rental for that in the last few years... :confused3

I am looking for cab fares because we want to visit CityWalk at night and we are staying at BWI so I am assuming it will still be between a $35-$40 fare one way??
We don't want to drive since we would like a glass ot two of wine during dinner

We were at Seaworld last year and because DH was not feeling well at all we had to take a cab back. The cost was $35 plus tip - non rush hour. Mears coach bus/shuttle is $20 round trip pp.

We used Tiffany Towncar to get from WDW to Universal - Portofino, and then back to the airport and were pleased.
