Is there a specific taxi service that can be recommended to get us from Sea World back to the Wilderness Lodge? Do SW run any type of shuttle service?

I'm curious about this too...am planning a trip for next year & will be staying at the POP, but want to go to Sea World for one day. I would like to avoid the hassle of a car rental for one day & hadn't even thought about a taxi.

I'm also planning on staying at Pop next year and we are going to SW one day too. We are going to Daytona one day also though. I didn't know if I wanted to plan our out of the world days togther but if we got a rental car both we would have to so we just have to have it 2 days. If we could get a taxi one day we could split them up. So, if there is a taxi would it still be cheaper to get a rental car for 2 days or rental one day and taxi the other? Sorry I hijacked your post. Thanks!

We just stayed at Pop at the end of August (my 12ydd and I) and did one day at DC and one day at Sea World.

For DC we booked the Mears Shuttle the day before. They had set pick up times, 6:25, 7:25, 8:25, all am. We got picked up at 7:25 in a van with another group. They said depending on the days reservations it might be a van or a bus. They said it could take up to 45 minutes to get there, again depending on how many pick ups. We lucked out and went right from Pop to DC. It was $18 pp round trip and in the afternoon we had made arrangements for the 3:45pm. I *think* the returns were like 1:45, 3:45, 5:45. You could call them 2 hours before you wanted to go back day of or we booked it when we made the initial plans.

We LOVED DC but by 2:15ish we were ready to go home (we got there around 7:45 or so, had our dolphin experience at 8:40 and had done all we wanted and then some!). So we opted to take a taxi back. There were some waiting in the driveway. It was right around $24 I think and then I added tip.

So I lost money (since I had paid for the shuttle round trip) but I did like the convenience of the taxi coming when we wanted to go, not having to wait for a certain time.

For Sea World we decided to just use a taxi. It was again right around $24 for the ride plus tip. Very easy, there was one waiting at Pop and for the return there was a string of them waiting outside Sea World.

Hope that helps!

Thanks, Allyson! That's really helpful! I think I will definitely do a taxi instead of renting a car for the one day at Sea World. It will save us the hassle of car rentals, driving in a totally unfamiliar place, & we won't have to pay for parking at Sea World. :cool1:

Does anyone have any info on the public transport that runs from Disney to Seaworld and back?

From what I understand, you can take the public transit bus from Downtown Disney to Sea World. Bus # 50 is the one to look for ($2.00 adults, $1.00 for 6 & up) Be sure to ask the driver to let you off at the front gate of SeaWorld, and ask where to pick up the return bus (also #50). For schedules and further details, visit GoLynx.com.

There are two places where you can catch the city bus at Disney World:
The one that I will use is the one located at Downtown Disney - The trip from here to Sea World takes about 20 minutes. The stop for the Lynx buses is in the overflow parking lot on the far west side of Downtown Disney. If you are arriving at Downtown Disney on a Disney bus, get off at the Pleasure Island stop and walk through the West Side toward Cirque du Soleil, then around the right (north) side of the Cirque building.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for this info, We will probably take a bus to SW then a cab back because we have reservations at CRT that evening.

You can also get the Lynx bus at TTC. That is what we did...very easy. As already mentioned, be sure to tell the driver you want to get off at SeaWorld, otherwise you'll have a long walk back. You will be dropped at the parking lot entrance..just cross the lot and you'll be at the entrance to the park. When you're ready to leave, recross the parking lot to the street, cross the street and walk a bit down to the left. Look for the bus sign with the big blue paw print..the bus will be along shortly.

This is really great info. We are planning a trip October 2010 and was thinking of renting a car for one day to go to Sea World. But the Lynx bus sounds like a much better option and at a great price.

What great information you guys have! We are thinking about going to SW in April. The plan was to stay at a hotel near Seaworld because I thought it would be more convienent to get to the park. We are DVC members so it would save us a lot of money if we could just stay at one of those resorts and take public transportion to SW. Does anyone know if we can get to Aquatica? What is everyone thought on using public transportion to get to SW? Would it be better just to spend the money and be right by SW, or to stay at a DVC resort on our pts and take the bus? Thanks for your help.

Another option is to use a town car. They are comparable to a cab.

Thanks
