Taxi Question

So I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas about prices/options for taxi.

We are staying at POFQ and have two early breakfast reservations planned. One is at the Boardwalk at 7:50 and the second is at Epcot at 8am.

Do you think its better for us to just take a taxi instead of worrying about getting a bus that early? Thoughts on taxi's??? Estimated cost and did you ever use a taxi with children? It worries me a little bit because we have two children 3 and 5 but wont have a carseat.

THANKS

My advice: take a taxi to BoardWalk, take the bus to Epcot.

I suggest taxi for BoardWalk since there are no buses that go directly there. But Epcot buses will be running as early as about 6:30 a.m., and you'll get there without issue.

I would take a taxi to both. For me, it is worth the $20 to not have to be at the bus stop an hour before my ADR time, which is when you should be there if you are relying on a bus to get to your ADR. You never know when the bus is coming, if you just missed one and may have to wait 20 minutes or so for another one to come by. Use a taxi, pay $20, and get an extra 40 minutes of sleep.

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you can request a cab with car seat(s). I know the last time we took cabs, we often saw some in the backs of the vans. (We are a family of 5, so used van cabs instead of the regular). But, mine have all outgrown car seats so I didn't specifically ask about them.

Hi can any one give me the name of a reliable taxi to take us from a hotel near the airport to the port?

On another website to only use the yellow cabs, taxis & vans. Have the front desk call a cab for you as I hear it will get there fast if they call. It also says to ask about the cost up front. Apparently, some of the gypsy cabs charge 2-3 times as much as the Mears run cabs. Good Luck!!

Call Mears Taxi (407) 422-2222 when you are about to leave your room and they will be down at the lobby usually when you get there if not soon there after. We use them all the time to get to ADRs for breakfast in the AM at other resorts. Usually $20-$25 for the fare.. and then a few bucks for a tip. It's worth the money not to have to leave up to an hour and half before the ADR.
For Epcot I would use a bus, but make sure they are running.
