Does anyone know how much a taxi would run from OKW to the AKL for 2 adults and 3 kids?

we were two adults/two children and we paid about $25 (including tip i think) from AKL to Contemporary... not sure if that helps... most taxis, in my experience, allow an adult to sit upfront if it is going to be "tight" in the backseat, so that may help...

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was WAYYYYYY more then I imagined! Thanks for the info.

Doberlady - why are you interested in a taxi? With a bit of preplanning, people here can probably figure out a way to get you from OKW to AKL using Disney (aka free :)) transportation.

Well, this past Oct we rented a car and my husband HATES to drive and we got lost alot LOL The only time we used the car (besides shopping for a new stroller that the airline broke) was to go to some of the other resorts for dinner. I didn't want to spend $250 to rent a car when we just want it for dinner purposes. This past Oct my baby was only 4 months and I didn't want to start with late nights and taking multiple buses to OKW with her.

She will be 16 months next Oct so I thought we could take the buses and throw in a few taxis, but not at $25 a pop.

does anyone know if you need to use/bring a car seat for the taxi? my DD is 8 months old and we are considering taxi service from ASM to AKL because of timing (8PM PS at AKL on 4PM arrival day), but probably not if we need to lug around her car seat.

you are not required to use a car seat in a taxi cab... but are you comfortable transporting her without one? the taxi will ride on regular roads/highways... do you have the car seat "basket" that she could ride in and just put the buckle over it? it would be safer than if you were to hold her in your arms, i would think...

i'm not really comfortable with just holding her in my lap - i buckle her in even if i'm just moving my car from one parking space to another at the malls! AKL is only about 10-15 mins drive from ASMo. she unfortunately outgrew her infant seat...the "basket" one that you are referring to, and she uses the britax marathon now, which is quite hefty.

but, at least i have an alternate option if we are really running close to our dinner reservations.

thanks!!

hey, i just noticed you're from long island? me too! smithtown, how bout you?

believe it or not, i'm from further east... north fork, east of riverhead! small world and all that! LOL!

can you carry your dd in a sling? or a baby bjorn? what will you be using for her on the plane?

also, tell me about the maine lobster festival... where in maine and when? we're planning a trip up there either memorial day weekend or fourth of july...

ooh! north fork! my husband and i have spent many a weekend touring the wineries and eating roasted corn at harbees with the family. it's like a whole different part of the island on the north fork.

as for the sling, funny you mentioned it, i just bought a new one last night at babies r us. we had one already but it is soo uncomfortable, had to break down and get another. it's all about comfort in WDW! on the plane we'll prob use the snugli for a while and just do the baby pass from my DH, to me, to my DD12. last time we flew we had no probs with that, thank god it's not a long flight - we leave from islip and it's about 2 1/2 hrs.

as for the maine lobster festival, it runs from aug 2-6th in rockland. i've never been to it, or maine even, so i'm pretty excited and don't quite know what to expect other than stuffing myself with lobster. my DD12 and i have started this travel log which is really just a sheet i photocopied from a coloring book of the US. every state we've visited we color it in and hopefully, one day, the entire map will be colored. maine is just something we picked with some of my cousins who are self proclaimed food conoseurs (one cousin, 22yrs old, carries her Zagat NYC book with her everywhere). where in maine did you plan on going? are you driving?

we also fly out of islip when we go to orlando... such a breeze! :)

we're hoping to go to saco, maine which is near the ocean (just like most of maine LOL) and orchard beach (i think that's the name of the big touristy town nearby)... we have friends that live up there but we've never been to visit them... our plan is to go either mem'l day or fourth of july weekends... we'll drive/take the ferry from orient point...
