We are doing our first split stay. We will move from yacht Club to All Star Music on Thursday. I was thinking that we might have bell services take most of the luggage. We could get a cab or town car outside the hotel to drive us over to the all Stars. I would like to stop on the way and pick up some water, soda and beer maybe some snack food. Do you think this is possible? How expensive might it be? Has anyone done this before? Thanks!!!

I'd say it would be cheaper with a cab. I'm guessing about 35-40 plus tip. Which may be a big tip if you ask them to wait at a store and you aren't quick.

Also, since you are buying drinks, you'll want to see about getting a fridge in that room. Values don't have them like moderates and deluxes.

You could also use Disney transportation to change resorts and have groceries delivered.

That's what I would do..use either gardengrocer.com or wegoshop.com
They will deliver, for a small fee (around $12-15). They bring it right to the resort. Then, have Disney move the bags, but be prepared to not have them available until late afternoon.
I usually hand over my bags before 8am, then leave the resort and head to a park. After lunchtime, I head over to the new resort, get checked in. Sometimes I'm lucky and can get right into a room. Later on that day, when my bags get to me, I can unpack. If I have a grocery delivery, I have them deliver it late afternoon..hopefully I'm in the room at that time and can get all settled.

But, if you would rather use a car service, check with them and find out about grocery stops. For your needs, the Hess Station, over by BW, may fit what you need easily. And it won't be way out of the way..making the driver happier. It should cost under $50 for a car service..which would be my choice between a cab and a car service.

I thought I would come back and report what we ended up doing!

In the end we rented a car for the day. They picked us up at the Yacht Club and took us to the lot near MK. It cost about $45 and we moved our own luggage and went to Publix. I think it worked out best for us. I liked keeping our stuff with us and honestly we didn't have to pack it as well as we would have for someone else to move it. (IE we left some things loose like our bathroom bags and some shopping we had already done.) And I was happy to go to the store myself. It really was just easier for me than making the list at that point in the vacation. We took most of the day to get the car, do the move, and go to the store. Went into the park by about 4 but all our stuff was in the new room and the cooler was full of ice.

After doing all that honestly I would prefer to just pick a resort and stay the whole time. We discovered moving is really just not for us! I know lots of people enjoy it, it was just not for us!
