Taxi from WL to Orlando Airport

Hi! After finding out that we would have to be on the ME 3 hours before our flight, we are considering taking a taxi to the airport. Can anyone out there tell me about how much this will cost us and if possible recommend a taxi company? 2 adults 2 children.

A cab, or towncar service, will charge you about $50..one way. Here's the thing to keep in mind. MCO recommends that you arrive at the airport 2 hrs before your flight departure. You could have a long security experience. The longest I have waited has been 25 mins, most have been shorter, but I have seen lines way into the main terminal area. Those poor people had to be in line for at least 45 mins, if not more. And that does happen with alarming regularity.

You state that you don't want to leave WDW 3 hrs before flight departure. And that's your right. You will be saving only an hour if you choose a cab or car service.....and that will get you to MCO with 90 mins to spare. I wouldn't take any chances there....if there were to be a traffic issue, and then you found a long security line..well, you could very well be late arriving to the gate. But, again, that's your choice. I certainly wouldn't cut it any closer than being picked up at the 2 hr mark. I know some go with 90 mins before their departure time, but that gets you to MCO less than an hour before departure...waaaaay too close.

You can still check your luggage at your resort first, though. I'd think an hour prior to departure would be enough time to make it, although it depends on what day and what time as for how long security will take.

Meaning that you arrive an hour before departure, or that you depart from your resort an hour before departure??? There is no way to tell, beforehand, if you are going to get one of the pokey bus drivers (and they do exist!!)...we had one and it took us almost 40 mins to get to MCO. Then, you have no idea what the security line is going to be like. Murphy's law has always applied to me...if I'm not in a hurry, the line is ridiculously quick. But, if I am at all rushed, the line is snaking through the terminal and every person in front of me is a new flier and has no idea what to do...even in the 'expert traveler' line!!!
I still stand by my leaving the resort no later than 90 mins before flight departure.

Sorry I wasn't clear. Arrive at airport an hour before. I wouldn't leave the resort any later than 90 minutes prior either.
