Hello- I just noticed some cheaper flights that land at SFB so I know that ME won't pick up/drop off there. Wondering if anyone has taken a taxi from SFB to their resort and if so, how much it runs them? I would think most of the resorts would be in the same "ball park" for prices. Thanks!

You can look it up at taxifarefinder.com.

A town car is also an option. It should cost around $200 round trip.

Thanks! We'll have to see if the savings in airfare are greater than the cost of transportation. It would be nice too to not have to wait for the ME buses.

We had Tiffany Towncar pick us up at SFB. We booked one-way because we were flying home out of MCO and Tiffany wouldn't let us book round trip using two different airports. The towncar from SFB to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge cost $115 not including tip.

We requested the grocery stop. We got the grocery stop -- at a grocery store near SFB. I said that I knew there were grocery stores closer to the hotel, but the driver said they were not on the way and refused to go there. We did not buy perishables because they would have been sitting in the car for more than an hour by the time we got to the room.

OT - Are you looking at Allegiant? If so, watch out for fees. They charge to book with a credit card instead of debit card, take a carry on bag, check a bag, and choose your seat instead of getting it randomly assigned, among other things. Then there's the carrier usage charge, U.S. domestic segment charge, local airport passenger fee, 9/11 security fee and federal excise tax. The last flight I priced out was a $116 flight but the fees would have added about $111.

Ah! Thanks for the heads up! We usually fly SW but saw their rates and considered switching. Not worth all that hassle though! Thanks for sharing your experience!

We have always flown into SFB and have always found very reasonable rental cars. There is only 4 of us so we get by in a mid/full size. Dollar usually has good rates. When you go to their website the first time, put in your search details and rates will show up. You will see a "city specials" click that link and you get great rates. I would take that first city special rate you see. Reserve the car, no CC needed to reserve and you can cancel at anytime. Then you can look at other rental places or bid on priceline to see if you can get anything lower.
