I wondered if anyone and a rough idea of how much a taxi would cost from Carousel Inn and Target. Also Carousel Inn and Suites and Walmart?

This might not be helpful, but I would avoid a taxi anywhere in southern California whenever possible. Uber might be a good alternative. Or just ordering grocery delivery (unless you need non-grocery items). That being said, part of it depends on traffic. I usually go to the one on Lincoln and Euclid, which is about 15 minutes each way with no/normal traffic. There's one on Harbor, too, which is easier to get to but I think a little further away.

We walked to Target, it was about 1.5 miles. Then we took the public bus back.

We used Uber to get to Target on our last trip. I don't remember how much it was but it was much cheaper than a taxi

Thanks for the replies. I will have to look up what uber is?
It's a ride sharing app. There's also Lyft. The rates can be a little cheaper and tips are included. Also, there is no cash involved. You can end up waiting longer in the resort area because there aren't a lot of drivers around sometimes. For something like a ride back from Target you'd be waiting anyway. For something like a ride from the parks back to a hotel, there are cab lines, so there's more a difference.

If it is grocery type items you are looking to get, you could also see about having Von's (aka Safeway) deliver. Delivery is free for first order, or free if order $150+. http://www.vons.com/ Minimum orders of $49. Pretty much can get anything that Von's/Safeway carries in their stores.

I second this, there are bus stops (the OCTA 43) right at the BWPPI and at Target. I think it's $2 each way. It would depend on how much you were planning to bring back.

Most AUS/NZ posters who ask this question want to go to Target/WalMart for a wide variety of items that are expensive to have shipped, not just groceries. Taking the bus there would save some money to help offset the cost of taking a taxi back with all the purchases.

I would suggest they still at least browse Von's website to see what is available for delivery, as it might meet their needs. I did see in another thread that some transportation options allow for a stop at a store (Target/Vons/In-N-Out ;) /other?), so if they haven't booked transportation yet from the airport, that may be an option as well.

> Stopping at store before arriving at DLR - any advice?

One question I have about Vons - I could not find on their website what their delivery hours were - anyone know? We decided upon Target because we couldn't find this info. We're arriving early in the day, and unless we happen to be able to check in early, we'll be using the free luggage storage offered by our hotel. Then we won't get back from the parks until 10:30pm or so, to check in. We're planning on getting perishable meats (need that protein breakfast before a day in the parks!) and thus, didn't want our delivery sitting at the hotel all evening.

Wow thanks so much for the suggestions. Yes we do want to get a few groceries but also want to look at everything else, especially makeup! It's so much cheaper. Example a reborn colour stay lipstick I like is about $us7, in New Zealand it's about $nz32!

I actually have taken a taxi to target from the Carousel. It was $12, and the driver came back in 45 minutes to give me a return trip.
