Taxi from AK to Hoop De Doo??

I'm thinking that taking a taxi might be a better idea, rather than relying on Disney transportation. With that, I have a few questions (1st time at DW!):

How do I go about getting a taxi from AK to Hoop De Doo show? (How long will it take to get a taxi?)

How long will it take to get from AK to the show?

About how much will it cost?

I'm not sure of the cost but keep in mind that the taxi can only get you to the entrance of FW. You then need to take the internal bus (seasonally perhaps a Hoop-de-Doo bus) to the venue.

You can have the bell staff order a taxi and sometimes a taxi is there waiting. I'm not at all sure of the return trip though.

In your shoes I'd actually take the bus to MK and transfer to the boat to FW which will dock very close to the venue. I'd budget an hour but expect it to take 45-50 minutes or so.

I agree. This is one situation where taking a taxi will not save you any time.

another vote for going to MK from AK then boat to Fort Wilderness as the bus from AK to the Fort is going to require taking a second bus to other end of the Fort. even with a taxi you will have to take the bus to other end of the Fort. depending on what show you are going to, taking boat back to MK to get bus to your resort will be your easiest way back. no taxi at that end of Fort

Not sure if this matters much, but we'll be at AK in the day but staying at Poly. Perhaps it would be better to go to Hoop on the day we're already at MK?

Would you recommend that? Much easier, right?!

getting to HDDR is a lot easier from MK as the boat dock is just a short walk away from HDDR. other than golf cart parking there is no parking in that area of campground

It's always much easier to plan your ADRs to be near the park that you'll be at that day.

If the OP is going to be at AK (park, not hotel), then why not take the bus directly from AK to FW?
I know they might still have to transfer to the internal FW bus, but it might be faster than transferring to a boat at MK.

surprisingly the boat could be faster because the bus from AK will most likely stop at Wilderness Lodge before stopping at the Fort plus the wait for internal bus and how many stops are needed before getting to HDDR. stops for loop sites will be first before getting to other end. my guess time wise it would be about same
