Taxi for solo female?

I took one from POR to AKL. It was easy, quick and felt perfectly safe. It was 25.00 with tip.

Much better than taking a bus to AK and then catching another to AKL.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I have done the solo taxi thing and felt perfectly safe. I know that you can take a bus to DTD and then to your resort but for the relatively small fee ($15-$20 at most?), I was happy to spend it instead of wasting the time to transfer buses, etc. If it's late and I can get to my room within 15 minutes, or do the bus thing for 45 minutes (depending on the wait at the bus stops), I will take the taxi.

My feelings exactly, and I have never been uncomfortable.
