We have a very early ps for breakfast at the MK Christmas morning (8:10) and we have another one at the GF at 8:30. My question is, should we take the bus from POR or should we do a taxi? Also, can we even take a taxi from POR to these ps'? And the last part...IF we take a taxi approx what is the cost? I am a little concerned about the busses after just reading a new post indicating the busses only ran about every 30-40 minutes from POR. Thanks for any and all help!!

I was told when making my 8:10 ps that buses start running at 7 a.m. I'm going to risk it, get out there at 6:45 and take the bus (from ASMu). The only time I had problems with time on buses was going from POFQ to BC, which took forever having to go through DTD.
But then again, I'm not trying to get to MK on Christmas morning, so that might be an issue.

On our trip last week, we took a taxi to two of our breakfast PS's (both at right around 8am). As it turns out, it was totally unnecessary. It took us longer to get to the respective parks via taxi and both times we were dropped off further away than the buses would have dropped us off so we also lost time walking further (or in the case of MK, taking the monorail). Additionally, we saw resort buses at each park both times. I'm not sure how Christmas Day will effect things for you. Anyway, it costs about $15 (with tip) to take a taxi from AS Movies to just about anywhere else so I think that would be a good estimate for you. I think they're pretty flexible if you're late, although Christmas might be different since it's busier.

The busses usually start running an hour before the park opens. If there is Early Entry at MK that day (which is Thursday, right?), you should be okay. I would try to be on the very first bus that goes to MK though because of the crowds. We were told that our PS would be held for 15 minutes, and we were even a little later than that and it wasn't a problem at AK. Definitely bring your confirmation number or a print out of your reservation. I would probably take the taxi to GF though. Ask when you get to your resort.
