So....I've been looking into doing either the International Program, or working on the cruise ship for 3-6 months. I have some questions...

1. If you do the International Program do you have to work there for a year?

2. How do taxes work in the USA? Does the company you work for automatically pay your income tax from your paycheque? It didn't sound like it...so then how does it work if it's not done that way?

3. has anyone worked on DCL before? IS there another forum for this? - aren't you burnt out from working 70hrs/wk? Do you get to acctually enjoy Castaway Cay or anything else that looks fun on the ship?

4. How much do you make if you do the professional internship? Is it still only $6.90/hr??? That's nothing.

5. Do lifeguards seriously only make the same as someone serving food?

Thanks to all for the answers!

1. I believe there are some international programs that may not last the full year ... Not 100% sure, but right now at my work location, we have some ICPs from Brasil, the UK, and Canada who are on 3 or 4 month programs

2. The company will withhold some money for taxes from your paycheck. At the end of the year, you have to file a tax form stating how much you made, vs how much was withheld. You may be entitled to a refund check, or you may additional taxes.

3, 4, and 5, I don't know the answers to

Thanks a lot for the answers you gave me!

There was just something on the cruise website : "All Crew Members are responsible for paying their own taxes." which got me confused.

Could it be different then the Internships/College Program?
