Tax rip off on flights

Just got back from 3 weeks in florida, looked up flight prices for 10 nights in sept,

price on Virgin website £376 for 2 adults + 2000 miles each, plus £404.80 TAXES,FEES,CHARGES, & SURCHARGES, seems government gets more than the airlines what a rip off.
