Tax Refunds Jan 28th

Wow! I don't even have all of the forms I need to start my return.

Me neither! We are still waiting on DH's W2. We have everything except for his. Hope everyone enjoys Disney this year. We are using this year's check to pay off some bills and household repairs!:yay:

FYI- I did my BF taxes and she was scheduled for a 1/28 deposit and it was there last night already in my account.

Now I am waiting for mine, IRS accepted it at 8:30 am yesterday, but turbo tax says to expect a 2/11 deposit. Irs deposit chart says if the receive it by 11:00am (which it did) it will be deposited by 2/4. I am hoping for the 2/4 and thinking Turbo Tax is just telling me that to error on the side of caution?:confused3

It always reflects a tuesday date...I guess in case your bank doesn't process the direct deposits right away

I believe you only need to wait if you're taking the tuition dedication. I took a credit (I believe it was lifetime learning) through turbo tax and my return was accepted by the irs this morning! :goodvibes

sorry, but what's the difference between the dedication and the credit?? I'm assuming we didn't take the dedication since I don't even know what it is....;)

We got ours today and will use part of it to pay off our trip:cool1: The 2nd part will pay off the one little bitty credit card we have. Noone can believe that we are going on a Disney vacation and paying cash for it :thumbsup2

How on earth are you guys getting your refunds so quickly? It is with TurboTax direct deposit?

We don't have our stuff yet. DH for some stupid reason always takes forever to get it done, but this year since we are going to Disney I'm going to light a fire under his butt.

Boyfriend got his back this morning! It is fun to get that big deposit but we are doing the adult thing this year. It will pay off his alimony and then we won't have to deal with his ex anymore. Can't wait for that.

Disney is still a go for us though. Meeting my bestie in Disney in October!!.

Woohoo!! Even though I missed the federal filing date by a couple of hours and will have to wait until the 4th for that, my state refund did show up in my account this morning!

Me too. So excited by next friday when I get my federal refund, our Disney Cruise on the Dream will be paid in full. Paying early in case, they decide to instill a gas surcharge. Gas prices are raising so quickly, every week.

My wife just received her W2 yesterday, so I could only work on them last night.

Unfortunately, we are ever so slightly above the limit for a certain credit, so our refund got dropped to nearly nothing.

Bummer, we were going to use it for vacation. I guess we won't be going on vacation again with the kids since they will be older when we are able to go since we've always gotten $2500-3000 back and now we get just a few $$. Luckily we took our first, and now last vacation last year. At least they got to see Disneyworld while they were still kids.

I'm not a tax person, but if it is very close, can't you put money into an IRA (assuming you didn't put in the limit already) and bring it down under the limit?

Just an idea.

Jenny
