Tax Refund question

For those who e-filed, when do you get your refund? I filed 3 weeks ago, chose direct deposit for my refunds, but I still haven't gotten it yet. Started to worry.

I didn't e-file, I did Telefile about 3 weeks ago and got my State refund back a week ago and my federal today.

I filed pretty early and it took 10 days. There is a number you can call to check the status I believe. Turbo-tax also tells you when your refund is expected when they send back the filing verification.

We efiled with TurboTax two weeks ago, and got our refund in 10 days, both state and federal. I was so surprised.

OK Just an FYI on New York State Taxes. IF you are going to expect a refund Direct Deposit they only release the money to the account on or around the 15th of the month.I believe this applies to e-file and non. I don't exactly know why but since I am working for the company hired to handle the returns this is what we have been told.

Also if you file and have really really bad handwritting and I have seen some really bad ones...Use a typewritter and or print clearly you have no idea how long your return can be held up because we can't read it, if you don't finish it or fill out all the paperwork.

I also hear and I am not sure so don't hold me to it{unsure if this applies to efile}. That the state taxes can be held for 30 days before they are processed once they are recieved by us and they can then hold the refund for 45 days. Now I don't know the legal specifics but one of the ladies I work with said they may have started doing this. Last week at work was aweful since we don't work unless we get tax forms and we ended up with wed thru fri off because it was so slow.

I wish I E-filed. I mail out my taxes and DUH, I never took a copy of it. I hope it doesnt get lost in the mail. Someone said I can call up after the rush of people waiting the lst minute and get a copy. I must of been thinking Disney when I mail those out.
