Just want to remind all the Texans that this is Tax Free Weekend. The boys and I are heading out soon to beat the weekend crowd. What I sight I will be dragging 6 boys around the mall (one is not mine :D ).

Have fun - should be like Christmas shopping :teeth:. Today should be better than tomorrow, though. We don't have kids, so we'll probably stay out of the malls and clothing stores this weekend. We're hoping to catch up on some of this summer's movies.

Good luck! I'm actually avoiding any shopping venue this weekend! Hope you come home with the same 6 you start with! :p

I'm counting the 6 boys you'll be dragging around. . . .Michael, Matthew, Evan, Connor, a friend's kid, and who else? DH :teeth:?

Good luck. Get a couple of good deals for us.

I'm going out this morning for medicine. I guess I'll pick up some socks and underwear for the kids. I already got the school clothes/shoes.

Hey mt2 - maybe we'll see you at Target or somewhere. Too bad we wouldn't recognize each other if we walked right past one another. Maybe I should start wearing my DIS button around town :teeth:.

I'm torn between trying to save some money and hiding from the crowds!

Krista--well I have more 4 original plus we just became guardians to my oldest ds best friend. Guess I should change my name to 5 great boys, lol. Travis, 16, is our new addition. So now we have 3 teens and 2 toddlers--they work on alternate schedules trying to drive me crazy, lol. And then today I have the additional boy, my 14 yr olds friend.

I dont really think early today will be to bad but tonight and the rest of the weekend :crazy2:

I got back from my tax free shopping about an hour ago. Went to Kohl's with my 15% off coupon. Saved a bunch!

Of course, I would have saved more if I'd stayed home....:teeth:

Oh honey, it ain't worth that couple bucks in tax savings to stand in those lines and deal with all those people.

Unfortunetly, I have to work at the mall tomorrow night and I'm dreading it... ARGH.

I'm right there with ya Aimee. THis is the one weekend a yeare where I pray to break my ankle so I don't have to work.

If anybody's out at Stonebriar..I'll be the one at Sonic with the Mickey in black ink drawn on my name badge and I think I have WWWD scrawled on there too. I'm sure by the time this is all over with I'll be really glad it's over with. I hate Tax Free Weekend with a passion.

Well we are home. Went to Kohl's, Target and the mall. The crowds werent bad yet. Found some great sales and plus no tax made for a good savings and when you are shopping for many every little bit helps.

Can someone clarify for me what can you buy? Is it just clothes, or does it include school supplies too?

We've never really had to think about it before this year!

I wish we had tax free weekends here. Lucky you!

We're keeping you company, Texans! It's tax-free weekend here in South Carolina too. I did lots of back to school shopping today, all our school supplies plus shoes and some pants for my youngest son. I had already shopped for clothes and new sneakers for my oldest. You really don't save all that much but there is just a feeling of glee with not having to pay that sales tax.

I've already shopped for the kids school stuff. They don't need much since they're only in preschool. I usually buy them most of their new stuff when the weather gets a little cooler.

I stopped at Kohl's around 8:30pm tonight to pick up a few
t-shirts for my DD and there were so many people already shopping. It was CRAZY!

I'm going to Target for a few household items tomorrow morning and then I'm avoiding all stores for the rest of weekend.
