Tattos...Did you regret getting one?

I love my tattoo, but sometimes it surprises me when I look down and see it there on my leg. I've had it for about 3 and ahalf weeks now. I'm definitely planning on another one. My ONLY REGRET - I really want to work for Disneys' AK someday, and I wonder what they'll think of tattoos...

Yea!:bounce:
I did it. I got my first tattoo this weekend!
Love it. I designed it myself:teeth:
My friends (that were there) asked if it hurt. I said it kinda feels like when you floss your teeth and hit the gums. The tattoo artist and another artist in the shop just laughed. They've heard it described lots of ways...but never that way before. Then my artist asked, "What do you floss with? Piano wire?!"

I have 2 tattoos - one on my hip and another on my lower back. I've had them for about 8 or 9 years so far and have absolutely no regrets.

They are in places I can show if I want, but can cover in more conservative places (like the office or a wedding). I'm not worried about wrinkles either: unless grandmas in the future are wearing half shirts and low-rider jeans, no one will see them. I'll know they're there and I love them. That's enough for me. :teeth:

P.S. Congrats on your new tattoo Celluloidgal!

I have thumper on my right ankle. Had it for about two years now. I dont regret it at all....:D

Love my Mickey tatoo....got it about 2 years about, for my 50th birthday....a present to myself.

See Strawberry Lemonade's moving Mickey in her signature....It's that same Mickey....but he doesn't move! (unless I do) ;)

I have a sunflower over my ankle.

I don't regret it. It never hindered me professionally and I worked in a law firm as a corporate attorney. It's in a noticeable place too.

About the only way I could have regretted it is if I had some old boyfriend's name or initials, or the name of a silly band I liked as a teen. That would have been awful. But it's a sunflower...who hates sunflowers?

Alot of gray-haired grannies will indeed have tattoos in the future, but I just couldn't see not doing something I wanted to do based on whether or when I'll be a gray-haired granny in the distant future. That's not how I operate. ;)

I'm thinking so hard about whether or not to get an Aerosmith tattoo, because I just love them to death. I don't know if I will in the future, though. But they just look so cool on others!

I guess the reason I never got a tattoo is b/c years from now I didn't want to have to pinch the fat together on my a** or where ever it was just so you could read/see it. Hey, grandma you're right, it does say Motely Crue rocks! ;)

I would never get a tattoo. None of my family or friends have one. I always wondered if people regretted their decision. This is an interesting thread. Love the Martini Stinkerbelle!

Well, for my class ring in high school I got an S engraved under a blue stone (which isn't even my birthstone) to stand for Sebastian Bach. I'm surprised my parents even still talk to me with all the dumb ways I invented to waste their money.

For my tattoo I consciously chose a pretty flower that I knew I would never "outgrow". I also thought about getting one of that lion carving in Rafiki's cave in The Lion King, but I didn;t want anything that might one day be dated. However, thinking about it now, I would not have regretted it....it's always going to be a classic movie that I love to pieces.

Have been recently having thoughts about a little HP for Harry Potter, but have so far controlled these impulses.

I have one. It's an adorable Kokopelli on the right side of my lower back. It's the perfect spot as it can only be seen if I'm wearing a bikini or a shirt with an open back. I want another, but don't know where I would put it that it would only be noticable if I wanted it to be.

i have 5 tattoos and have never regretted any of them. i have one on each shoulder/bicept one on my ribs, one on my back and one on my calf. The minute i got my first i wanted more and more. It's an expensive art form lol. On my back is a peace symbol that is done in black and looks like it is carved in stone (white skin lol) i sooooooooooooo want to make a vine grow out of that with flowers and a tree on the other side of my back with flora, fauna and merriweather flying on my back. no cash for that yet tho lol

On our next trip to FL I want to get a Tinkerbell or Thumper tat on my shoulder. And a tiny ºoº Mickey head on my toe. That idea I got from someone on this site.

Just got one two weeks ago...have wanted one for ages, but was never sure. Went to the beach one day on vaca, saw a cool shop and said, okay, I'm doing it! (It was very sterile and safe...and my artist Dave was very helpful and put me at ease. He even sketched it beautifully from my very vague description!)

Got it on my left hip. No one will ever see it but me and my SO. It's small enough my skivvies cover it completely. It's finally fully healed, and looks great. BUT...it hurt like HECK. I knew it was going to hurt, but your hip is very bony (mine especially) and WOW. It took about 45 minutes and I thought I wasn't going to make it. It was sore for about a week, and now it's like I've always had it. I smile every time I see it!

ETA: um...if my brother or my mom read this, then it's not me! Really. I let my friend use my sign-on! Honest!

I have 2. I got the first one when I was 25 and the second when I was 27. I dont regret either. I have tigger on my left thigh, situated so when I wear casual shorts you can see him or when im swimming. My other is 2 dolphins jumping to a sphere on my right shoulder. I got the first in Denver and the 2nd in Orlando...they remind me of great vacations and have a lot of memories!

I think tatoos are tacky. I don't care how pretty it is, I would never get one. No offense to anyone, I don't think that people who get them are tacky, just the tat itself.

I got mine almost two years ago and don't regret it. I got a Mickey Mouse head.

I have one on my left ankle. It is the chinese character for "monkey", which is my chinese zodiac! My DH and I got them at the same time...kind of a "bonding" experience! Sometimes I wish I had gotten it in a different spot, I work in elementary schools and not all principals think it is "cool"! I buy a LOT of big bandaids and kids are always asking, "How did you get a boo-boo on your leg?"....sigh*

I just got one yesterday on my right ankle. I love it. It's the mickey head all in black. I feel like I have my very own hidden Mickey, only in the summer he is not so hidden. :D
