tatto question?

LOL...Well, OT, but I think if I could get a nurse who could put an IV in without really hurting me, I'd ask her the same thing.

Be very careful about water. A friend on my water polo team hopped in only a week after and the lines smeared/bled a bit. Her design was a bit intricate (one of those "tribal" designs). If you get it on vacation, you may want to wait till the end so you can enjoy the pool....

Ok, how much does it hurt?

I have 3 and none of them hurt all that much at all. The one on my lower back was the most painful but definatly nothing I couldn't stand! Its not anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be.

How long does it take?

Depends on what you get. My Tinkerbell around my bellybutton is small and only took about 45 minutes. The one on my back goes all the way across and took like 2 hours.

Is it expensive?

My large one across my back was the most expensive.....I can't remember but probably around $150

Water, Pool

They tell you not to get it wet for a few days at least. It scabs over at first but after a week your fine to get it wet. I don't mean showering just not soaking it in water.

Care for it

Its easy you just buy a little $5 dollar thing of tatoo goo...or you can use vaseline or KY Jelly...something to keep it moist. You don't smear it on just run enough in to keep it moist.

Does it hurt like an epidural or IV

Well the IVs I had never hurt but its nothing like labor pain, not even in the same catagory.....I swear it doesn't hurt that bad!!! I would go have another one done right now if I could find something I like

Be careful they are addicting!!!!

I am so on the line on this...would be kinda cool though. Also thinking of how to explain it to my girls.

Only a lil bit of advice...If you get it on vacaton you will not be able to enjoy any swimming activities of any sort in pools, lakes or any thing for a FEW WEEKS, its better to be safe than sorry. As far as expense...it is not something you really want to shop around for the best price. With so many wonderful talented tattoo artist out there it sometimes is easy to foget that it is also alot of very bad tattoo artist out there so please make your selection carefully ...the difference will last a life time.:D

Go for it GLO!. After giving it careful thought do what you feel is right. I have one on my calf of a scorpion (birthday) and someone is drawing my second one now. My wife is considering one but hasnt found the right design yet. A good shop will give you good instructions for care. As most people have said you keep it moist for the first week or so and by all means AVOID POOLS for a while. I would not get one on vacation. Get it near home with someone with good references. The biggest reason is they are very addicting. Once you have one you will want another. As far as breaking it to the kids just kind of walk around until they notice it. If it is something Disney they will be amazed most likely think it is cool!

Good Luck!

Yep, Exactly what Kevin said, my son thinks its really cool as do all of his friends. I have never once regretted mine!! Besides you only go around once in this world, if its something you want GO FOR IT!!

Glo....you go girl!

I always wanted to do something to celebrate my 40th bday but I'm long past that and I have yet to come up with something.

Go Glo!!!! I've always been tempted too but not enough courage to go for it. The biggest thing I've done (so-far) for the 40-something funk is get acrylic nails.
