Tastings and other onboard activities

On the Magic in January 2020 they had set up a mixology setting at each seat. We made a muddled drink and something else that I don’t recall. There were also three drinks that were demonstrated to us and then everyone was served.

Last time for us was 2015 on The Fantasy and 5 or 6 of us went behind the bar and made 5 or 6 servings of one drink each (so there'd be enough for every participant). Then the next group of people would go behind the bar and do the same with a different cocktail - super fun! I don't think that's the case any more right?

The good 'ol days of Mixology! Those classes were a LOT of fun.

The last time we did Mixology we couldn't get behind the bar like we had in the past but we were able to mix in front of the bar. I would think post Covid that will changes. We have done all of them except the scotch tasting one and Loved them all. The Tequila was far better than I imagined.

In 2019 I went behind the bar and made drinks. I think it was a martini tasting. It was so long ago my cruise memories are fading

I did the liquor and chocolate pairing on the Fantasy in 2019 and was blown away, just awesome. Our host mixed in some cheese with a Port wine for one tasting. Book as soon as possible, they fill up extremely quick

For a newb (only 3-night on the Dream) looking for ideas and suggestions on cruise #2 7-night on the Fantasy, for those of you who have done many of these, would you recommend the chocolate and liquor, the whiskey, or the bourbon tasting? Trying to plan for when I can sign up in a few months.

As a silver cruiser, you will sign up next to last. Take whatever is available! They all are good!

I just signed up as a silver cruiser last night for our 8 night on the fantasy in October. Hardly anything left to choose from.

That's good to know. I guess I will wait and see what's available at the end of October when I can book. Thanks!

You can book what's available online, and if there are some others that you want, check on embarkation day. In the past they have at least some times added additional tastings.

I did the chocolate and liquor tasting. It was excellent. Haven’t done the others, since they are usually offered in the 10:30 pm time slot. All the tastings that I’ve done have been in afternoon time slots, typically around 12:15 or 2:30 pm.

If we have 2 rooms booked, one is Silver and one is has no Castaway Club status, but we wanted to book a tasting for a mix of people in both rooms could we do it at the 90 days or do we have to wait to book everyone at the 75 days.

The non silver room would have to wait. If there are 2 silver guests you could swap one of them into the non silver room. Status goes with the highest castaway club status in the room. Then each room would be silver and you could book everything together.

Great explanation! Thanks so much!!!
