I read on a post that there is a target near DisneyWorld. My family and I are visiting DisneyWorld for 8 days-7nights in July. Yes that hot steamy time of year, no choice I am a teacher and my kids are in middle & high school. Any way we have the dining plan with 1 table service, 1 quick service and 1 snack. We lucked out because it was free with our package. It was a special at Beach Club so that is where we are splurging. After we booked the trip I found out the main restaurant Cape May is going to be under refurbishment during our stay. I am thinking to save money we should eat breakfast in our hotel room. I am trying to decide if I should pack cereal, breakfast bars, etc. We are flying southwest so we each can carry two bags for free. I am thinking that I could fit the breakfast stuff and paper goods in one bag. The other option is I could go to Target once we arrive at DisneyWorld to buy breakfast stuff and water. I am not sure how much a cab ride would be or how much time it would involve going to Target. Any suggestions?? Also what does your family like to eat in these types of situations? It is always fun to find something new rather that the same old special K an Nutrigrain bars.

honestly, we have had that same meal plan and we either just use snack credits during breakfast time if we get hungry and then eat early lunch(and we usually don't eat at our resort anyway, except maybe for checkout day). It's so much food(and we are fairly big eaters)...we just never felt deprived.Maybe you could purchase some items at a shop at the airport, or check if your resort has a quick service restaurant that is open...I would just either pack some granola bars or pick up at resort gift shop or airport shop...even if it is expensive, probably not more than Target plus the cab. Also, I know some folks have water and breakfast items shipped to the resort, but I have never tried that.Have fun!

If you do the suitcase route then you will have the empty bag to carry back anything you buy! I have packed individual serving cereal, breakfast bars, coffee etc. and had water shipped to the hotel by staples.

Or, you could have a grocery delivery service like garden grocer deliver water and other incidentals to your room. Not sure what a cab ride would be, but it would probably not be any less than the upcharge on those groceries plus your lost time.

In the past when the restaurant was under construction they had quick service kind of stuff set up. I would assume those are snack credits? I've never done dining plan- but also don't forget that you are walkable to the Boardwalk bakery(more snack credit options- mmmm)

My kids love Nutella. So nutella on whole wheat would make them very happy for breakfast.

Granola bars are always good.

Nutella is a great idea! My girls love that and I would have never thought of taking it. Thanks

We used Garden Grocer for our last trip. We were able to split the delivery cost with my brother and parents, so that helped. We ordered milk, juice, cereal, bread, peanut butter, bottled water (you may need a lot of water this time of year!) etc. We packed paper products in our suitcases. The bell services kept the cold items cold until we arrived and could have it delivered. It worked out very smoothly. It is easy to place an order on their website.

On our first trip, we had a rental car and stopped by a Walmart on our way to the resort.

Hope that helps--enjoy your trip!

I'm not sure how much a cab would be to Target. We eat breakfast either at the condo or we eat it on the way to the parks. We like Nutrigrain bars, bagels, cereal in ziplock baggies. Quick and easy is great for us. I would bring them in a bag with you and as a previous poster said, you will have an empty bag for souveniers on the way home.
