Can you tell me what major stores are within walking distance from the parks? We are actually staying at Desert Palms Hotels & Suites so we will be walking from there to the parks each day. I'm hoping to buy diapers and snacks somewhere close so I don't have to pack it.
Thanks!

Within walking, no. They do have them in the 7eleven at the corner of Harbor and Katella. A fairly large section of the shelves is full of them.

The next closest mass merchandiser is the BigK at Euclid and Katella. Across the street from it is a Food 4 Less. These are the closest large stores to DLR, but walkable ye,s but at almost 1.5 miles that 7 Eleven is going to look pretty good.

Were would you recommend for some small grocery purchases and some alcohol/beer. I would be willing to take a taxi if necessary

It depends on what you want for groceries. If it's simple the seven eleven will do. Or else go to the Food4Less I mentioned.

Alchohol/Beer is simple. The 7eleven has a good mix of beer and wine. Right next to it is a ABC market that has less regular items but a full range of liqour and a little more wine than the 7eleven. Across the street from the corner is a little strip mall with another liqour store.

If you are closer to the park gates on harbor there is alchohol inside the Ramada Maingate.

If you stay in one of the Disney hotels of near the Disneyland dr. that is on the west side of the parks. A block west on Katella near the intersection with Walnut St. is a liqour mart.

So, is the BigK closer than the Target on Harbor? I always thought of that store being the closest to the parks.

There's a very well stocked liquor store on Katella next to Best Western Pavilions; it's called "Wonderland Liquor". They also have basic groceries (milk, cereal, sodas) and, although the prices are slightly higher than what you'd pay at a non-DLR-area convenience store, they're not "highway robbery" , either. For example, a gallon of milk is around $4...more than you'd pay at the supermarket, but a few dollars less than I've seen a gallon of milk go for at other convenience stores in the area.

Hope that helps!

Depending on what you want and where you are staying. In the OP's case the 7eleven will probably work. If not the Food4Less is the second best choice.

If I recall, there are grocery stores that deliver in the area. I would look at Von's or Albertson's online. I'm pretty sure I remember people posting about having groceries delivered.

Vons still does grocery deliveries, but Albertsons discontinued it about a year and a half ago. :)

Yeah there are the mini markets close to ur hotel but there is a target about a mile or so down the road, just take a taxi there or even the shuttles go that way too.
