I seem to remember getting some awesome toy bargains at Target last July. Does anyone know when they start the markdowns?

So funny you should post this. I was just talking to my daughter who was in Target this morning and got some really great deals on clearanced toys to put away for Christmas. She lives in Indianapolis, but I don't know if all of the Targets do their markdowns at the same time.

I was just at Target today. Most of the toys are still at 30%. I did see a few toys at 50% even thought the signs said 30%. I bought some pajamas for my boys at 70%. Most of the clothes are at 30% I did see some Circo boys shirts at $4 which is 50% off. So sad that this year I can't buy any toys since we are going to DisneyWorld the week before Christmas...but I still have toys in a large bin from last year that I got at 70% off.

Yep, it's already started. 2 Of my stores are a mix of 30, 50, and 70. So far I've scored a six pack of Winx Believix dolls (normally $30, got for $15), a Bounce Bounce Tigger (normally $40, got it for $20) and an Imaginext castle dragon (normally $35, got it for $17.50).

Everything is still mixed in with the non-clearance items, but they should eventually move all the sale items to their own aisle (at least that's what my store usually does). My store is still at 30% mostly, with a few items at 50%. I'm waiting until the last Thurs in July when everything hopefully goes to 70%. My kids are getting older, so there isn't a ton that I will be interested in, but I always like to grab some items for gifts, Toys for Tots, etc. And at 70% off, you can't go wrong!

I haven't looked this year, but did well last year.

One thing to consider-- if you see a toy you want at 30%, BUY IT! If there are still some left at 50% or 70% later, you can get a price adjustment... if not, at least you got it...

I price adjusted several things last year.

Yep, already started with 30% but some are more. It's kind of mixed in so you have to hunt a bit. There was a plush minnie mouse with interchangeable bows that was really marked down.

Here, as of last night, everything is just 30% off. I'm holding out for at least 50% off.

My target had lots 50% off. I got a Jake and the Neverland Pirates Skull Island play set for $12 and Leap Frog Tag books for $7.

Okay so the last two years for me, the 70% off starts on the last Thursday in July. I went before it open and there were 15 people waiting for the store to open. It was like Black Friday, but in July! People started GRABBING anything that had a 70% off sticker on it. There was one guy that filled 4 carts of stuff so he could re-sell them on the internet. He was not bashful about doing that.

I am conflicted about this sale because:
1) My kids already have WAY too many toys, which need a major purging.
2) The toys weren't things my kids were super interested in.

The good thing about this sale is that I was able to score some cool birthday presents. In fact, my DD is taking the last one from last year to a bday party today.

With us trying to save $$ for Disney, I don't know if I will go this year. I admit I was grabbing stuff because it was a "deal" but my kids didn't really need or want it. It was nice to have extra presents and gifts for charity on hand.

It is worth a peek if you go and most of my area Target go on sale the last Thursday of the month.. if you go... go early.. be there when the door opens.

Good Luck!:)

Stopped in today and toys were still in regular aisles and still at 50% off. Some Legos were at 30% and baby items (car seats, strollers, pack & plays) were still at 30% off, too.

I have been to 3 targets since Saturday. Same items discounted but different prices at different stores. I snagged the imaginext stuff I was looking for at 50% off. Going back Thursday for the rest if marked down more.

One of the local news channels just ran a story about stores clearancing out toys this week and next week so they can empty the shelves to make room for their Christmas season stock.

I stopped at Kroger, (which is a grocery store but has a toy aisle) and all their toys in the toy aisle were on clearance. The news mentioned K-Mart, Walmart, Kohls, Meijer, Target...just about any store who has toys.

I get toys on clearance all the time at Kroger and after they clear the shelves they restock the exact same toy at full price in its place. :confused3

Just left a target in Virginia Beach. No 70% off yet. I scanned a few things to double check.

No 70% off at the store I went to this am. Will try to check another later today.
