Target return policy ??? any employees?

I have a pair of capris that I bought at Target back in the spring, so more than 90 days, that are still NWT. They would be able to do a receipt look up on my cc, as long as it hasn't been too long, I dont know how that works. I dont think they will give me a refund, but will they give store credit?

At this point every little bit helps, lol, it would be $20 or so...

I returned a dress after the 90 days period. I didn't have the receipt so they had to give me store credit for the lowest price it had sold for. So your $20 refund may be more like $7 when it's all said and done.

I use receipt look up all the time. I am not a Target employee, although, I used to spend so much time there that I should've been one.
Anyway, to answer your question. Receipt look up will not work after 90 days. I think that they must wipe the system clean every night, so anything that is 91 days or older is gone.... Even if you had the receipt and it has been more than 90 days, the receipt won't work for a return (even for store credit) either. After 90 days basically, it's yours. You could try to return it for a credit and see what happens. You'll get lowest selling price which more than likely will be AT Least 75% off. and you can only return and/or exchange 2 things per year w/o a receipt (at least here) so I would choose those items carefully. The stores here do NOT bend the rules on that one. good luck.

I used to work at Target, and a PP said they won't bend... and they won't. Chances are that the last selling price on your item was 75% off of $20... so... that's like, $5.

If to you, it's worth getting $5 instead of having a useless piece of clothing and having NO money, by all means, take it back!!!

You WILL need a drivers license, and you CAN only make two of these such returns in a 12 month period.

Also, in many cases that store credit will be towards an item in the same department that the item you are returning has come from. It will not be good for the whole store or at least in the stores in this area that is the way it now works. Again if you are lucky they will take them back but do not expect them to since they are more than 90 days and it would be a loss to the company.

..or if it's past the 90 days. You can't return stuff after 90 days and if you do, it's a "no receipt" return. My store makes you get something from the same dept.

I say it's worth a try. I know, fairly recently, that I returned something that was way beyond the 90 days. I used the credit card lookup and got my full money back.

No reciept return policies have been updated and some folks have given you outdated information. Currently, without a reciept you will get the lowest marked price in 90 days if it is still in the system... As store credit. If it is already cleared from the system nothing...

Purchasing from the same dept or only 2 returns is outdated information.

The official policy that you see at the registers will always state returns must be processed with a reciept for 90 days. Doing no-reciept returns is an exception to the official rule. From time to time, Target will update how to do no-reciept returns... But they juggle that line between customer service and fraud (and trust me a lot of fraud passes thru!)

Interesting... How long has this 'new' policy been in effect? I was in line the other day (to pay my target card bill) behind a lady how was trying to do a no receipt return. They told her go pick something from the same dept and had to be equal or higher priced. I believe she was returning shoes. I have 3 Targets w/in 9 miles of my house. I don't know how the other 2 are handling the change, but appearantly not all of the employees at this store had been notified of this change.
thanks for the most current info. I guess one would only know of these changes if they had in fact tried to return w/out a receipt. I don't even bother w/ this at Target. Besides I always pay w/ a card just so I have the advantage of receipt look up.

I returned some baby gifts to Target maybe a few weeks ago and was told about the $70-a-year limit on no-receipt returns. The previous time I'd returned things there without a receipt was 3 or 4 months ago and at that time I was told 2 returns per year. So I'm guessing this change is fairly recent. At least Target will take things back without a receipt - Babies 'R Us won't take anything back without a receipt any more, even if they still have the item in the store. It stinks when you get a gift you can't use & you can't even get a store credit for it because the giver didn't include a gift receipt.

Another thing to remember is that Target has a LOT of employees - many of them not exactly the most highly paid professionals. To get policy changes implemented, communicated out, and communicated out for all employees is pretty difficult. A Target employee who hasn't read all the most recent memos may simply be communicating old information.
