Target RedCard Debit... What's the catch?

The cartwheel app is nice and as you get more fb friends that use you get more spots opened. I rarely shop target but have app. and I like that it saves on food court goodies too.

We have had the Target debit card since 2008. We buy all of our groceries and household items, along with Disney & Southwest GC's at Target. Aside from selling your personal info (I never noticed an increase in junk mail or email), what you are really doing is giving Big Brother Target an easy way to track your purchases and offer coupons based upon what you may need next. There is a chapter on it in the book 'The Power of Habit'. I don't have a problem with the Target computers knowing what I buy.

Didn't know that! I have saved about $20 with my cartwheel app so far. No a huge fan that it forces you to go through FB but it doesn't seem to post things on FB. And, I don't really like that it shows my FB friends within the app what I am adding to my cart. I save about $3 per weekly grocery trip with it.

They don't just track Red Card users,, they track anyone who uses a bank card; just like Walgreens does. Before I got a Red Card I just used my regular debit card and I got "targeted" coupons.

I think if you setup your privacy setting correctly, it won't tell your FB world that you saved $.10 on vitaminwater

:thumbsup2. None of my cartwheel purchases show up on my FB feed. You can set your settings for that.

I am technologically challenged, :rolleyes1. Can you explain how to change the settings? And is that through cartwheel or facebook? I, too, would like to use cartwheel, but wouldn't like it to show on FB. TIA

In the cartwheel app, go to settings and turn on "hide total savings". I'm not real tech savvy either, but that how I've set mine up and I don't see my stuff posting to FB :)
