Hey everyone, so i'm new to these target giftcards with the red card. I just wanted to see if I had it right. I have a balance of $877.02 on my Disney reservation, I should buy $900 worth of giftcards at Target with my redcard saving me 5%, then I can take those cards and load them into my Disney Savings Account and therefore pay off my balance saving me roughly $43. Do I have this right? Are there con's for doing it this way. I'm more than 6months out so I have time:)

If you want to add on the savings, you can actually buy target gift cards at a discount site like cardpool.com. They currently are selling cards at 6.5% discount. Then, as long as you buy the Disney gift cards at Target.com you can still stack on the additional 5%. The only word of caution I would give you is to make sure that at least .01 goes on your Red Card when you make the purchase -- otherwise it's possible target will just cancel the order. It's happened to me and others here.

Also, how long has your savings account been open? If possible, you'll want it to be open 120 days before you make your payment. This will earn you an extra 2% when you spend $1,000. If you plan to buy memory maker, that would push you over the edge.

Ok so you buy Target giftcards off the said site, then turn around and buy Disney giftcards off target.com with target giftcards (headspinning)? To make sure you have .01 do you add an extra item to your cart?

I think you have it, although note that the cards you will buy at cardpool are for random amounts. Here is an emxample of the steps I took for my purchase just this morning:

1. Wanted to buy $250 of Disney Gift Cards at Target, which would cost $237.50
2. Went to cardpool.com and bought four target e-cards that added up to $237.46. I paid $222 for the cards after the cardpool discount.
3. Went to target.com, added 5 disney gift cards to my cart and paid for them with $237.46 on gift cards and .04 on my red card. It cost me $222.04 for $250 in disney gift cards and I will get credit card points too.

Also, if it's your first order from cardpool, you can use coupon code: NewUser5 for an extra $5 off.
Perfect! Thank you so much for the instruction and the code!! I need to write out all the steps so I don't miss anything but I think I have it in my head:)

Is there a limit to what you can buy on cardpool or target.com? My balance is $877 and would just like to get it all paid at once.

Just wanted to offer and mention a few things. I don't charge $0.01 to my Target card and I've never had any issues with any order being cancelled. I think it's isolated so I just wanted to mention if you have an issue, this might not fix it (because we don't really know sometimes why some orders get cancelled on people) so I'm not sure it's really necessary. I know some folks have had orders cancelled and I think it's just Target being glitchy as they have issues occasionally.

Also - you don't have to have the DVS account open for 120 before you can use it for a payment to fund something. You can fund it, then make a payment anytime, however you can't request any bonus cards until your 120 day mark and then $20 for every $1000 funded and spent. I can vouch this is true as I did it when mine was first opened.

Are there any limitations of how many giftcards you can use to pay for? For example i'm gonna buy $400 worth of Disney giftcards from Target.com costing me $385, therefore I have to buy several cards on cardpool to equal that amount, I think I put about 9 target cards in my cart, will target allow me to use that many when buying the disney cards?

I remember it's a max of 4.

If you have a smart phone, download the Target App. You can combine gift cards on there. So I have a physical card I got as promo (buy X get $5 target GC). I added that as my primary card on my phone. Each time I buy a card online, I immediated "combine" it to my primary card. It decreases the risk of someone taking the online card and using it. After the online card is combined, it shows up as zero account balance and unusable.

Also, the primary card is saved on my target profile so I only need to click it to use.

Ok, so if I buy say 9 target e-cards off cardpool.com I can combine them all on targets app on my iphone? and then in turn buy my Disney cards with the 1 target card? Sorry for the newbie step by step.

If you want to add a little more savings to the pot go through www.topcashback.com when you buy your gift cards from cardpool they give you 2% rebate back up to $1,000 in gift cards bought.

Cardpool is a "faster paying" merchant on topcashback so the rebate is available in about two weeks unlike alot of other rebate sites!

When ordering the Disney cards from target is the only shipping method standard mail? I don't see any electronic method and it says no store pickup.

Yes, standard mail only. It takes awhile to get the cards from target. Usually around 7-10 days for me.

I want to thank you all for you help! First time doing the cardpool to Disney card deal and it worked:) After everything I saved around $110 all together!! Thats a lot to me!!! I'll continue to watch the threads and learn some more ways to save some money:)

Thank you for this tip! I'm about to begin buying from Cardpool on Friday and this will save me another $40 (I'll have my wife open an account after I hit my $1000 max). Every dollar counts!

Ok so I'm confused. How do you get the Target 5% off with your Red Card when you're using Target gift cards, purchased from "cardpool" ?
Don't you have to purchase the Disney gift cards from Target with your Red Card to get the 5% off? Using a Target gift card to pay, won't get you 5%? Thanks to anyone who can explain this to me!

You put your RedCard in as the default credit card payment.

So correct me if I'm wrong but I could just buy $142.50 in Target cards from Cardpool instead of $150 since I'll be getting 5% off with my red card, right?
