I haven't read all of the replies just replying to the OP.
I did realize corporations could donate money but I didn't realize that school unions could! It upset me that CA schools have a shortfall in the budget and yet they could donate money to the cause of their choice (the union head)
by the MILLIONS.
Such a waste. Teachers being laid off and yet they can support their own political agenda.
Yes, the California Teachers Association is the largest political donor in the state and has been for years. But it isn't the schools money, it is the teachers money, money they are required to pay the union as part of their dues. Eliminating this would do nothing to bring more money to the classrooms.
