Target Black Friday deal

Can I buy $100 in Disney entertainment cards to qualify for the $75 purchase? I looked at the ad and didn't see it as an exclusion.

No one really knows; it looks like you can but until you get to the register to check-out, that's when you'll find out.

I assume the 20% coupon prints out from the register, in which case I will be there at 7 am or 8 am to get $75 worth of merchandise and get my 20% off coupon to use 2 days later.

I don't think it's printing out at the register, since there have been some team members on here who mentioned the coupons being in the back room. Plus, the leaked online version of the coupon doesn't look like the type that print at the register.

Gotcha. I assumed, probably wrongly, that you were wanting the 20% coupon to get a bunch of Disney Gift Cards, just because that's what I have in mind. If that's your goal, the $100 of gift cards on BF would just be a step in that direction. If you're planning to use the 20% coupon on other items, I guess it doesn't help.

Now that I know about the 20% coupon that *may* be used on Disney GCs, you assumed right in thinking I want it! LOL. Sorry if I sounded grouchy there.

What I'm trying to think is what is worth it more- waiting until 12:01AM for that coupon, or just getting the stuff and going home. I'm not really -blown away- by the lightning prices they've offered on other things- I'm mainly running for the Disney Infinity stuff, and Christmas items for the rest of the fam that I can't get from Disney. (But this is a rough maybe, too, as I need to head down and see if they'll match other BF ads on BF from neighboring stores. Disney Infinity figures are BOGO at GameStop, but my GameStops are small. Like, fit 10 people in the store small. If Target matches the paper promo from GS, then I'm in. If not, then I guess I'm freezing butt at GS and hoping someone else in the family needs $75 of stuff at Target to get that coupon.)

It's a lot of ifs still. :confused3

Actually, no, we can't. We're basically tackling all of Christmas on BF, and it's the spare budget. We never need to shop for that much in groceries because we keep a healthy stock on hand 24/7 (especially this time of the year when power outages in the area are spontaneous). And placing orders online is pointless when, again, you've already gotten what you needed in the store itself for a better price.

Are you thinking that you get to use the 20% off coupon right away on Friday? (You can't)

Just to clarify...

Target opens 8pm Thursday. There are door busters and crowds those first few hours.

(In order to entice customers to shop more than door busters)

Beginning at Midnight Friday, a coupon will be handed out at the registers if you spend $75 or more Friday.

The coupon is for 20% off a purchase Dec 1-7 (certain exclusions apply) which means it can't be used until Sunday at the earliest.

Now I'm confused... how do I know what is on sale through Saturday like the ad says & what is a doorbuster?

It's all on sale through Saturday. The Target "Black Friday ad" is actually a 2 day ad. (We just pretend Thursday is Black Friday grrr)

The caveat is that there are limited quantities. Some "hot" items may be sold out long before Saturday. Some things might actually get restocked by Saturday!

So the prices are guaranteed through Saturday. The quantity is not.

OK another question on the whole scenario....

I log on and buy $75 of "something" on BF at 2am CST online... according to the flyer, it states that an email will be sent with the coupon for the additional 20% off to be used December 1-7th for those who purchase online.

Does anyone know if the coupon you receive via email can be redeemed in store, or if that one will be only valid for future online purchases?

I assumed it would be fine to print and use in store... but I dont want to be surprised at the till when I go to redeem it!

The coupon that they email you will only be good for an in store purchase. So in your case, you are fine.

Keep in mind, it says the coupon will be emailed on Nov 30th. Don't be surprised if you don't get the coupon on the Friday.

Just to clarify... no, I wasn't looking to use the coupon same day. I already know the coupon is meant for purchases from Dec 1-7th.

DISers in MA and a couple other states should keep in mind that you might be able to capture the doorbusters and the coupon at the same time. Because of blue laws Target (and Walmart and Best Buy and...) can't be open on Thanksgiving in MA. In fact the employees can't even report to work until 12:01 AM. In some ways this is a pain as you have to call each store individually to find out their hours but in other ways (i.e., this coupon) it's great.

I just wanted to add that this Friday spend $75 and get the 20% off coupon is starting at 12:01 CST. So, depending on where you live, this may affect your shopping. Also, it says the online sale for the Friday $75 starts at 2:00 am CST. I've read most if the thread but couldn't remember if this was posted.

Ok I'm quoting myself :)

Now that I think about it, I'm guessing the actual coupon that was leaked was for the CST zone. Do you think it'll be 12:01 in each time zone? Or 12:01 CST? I'll probably just wait until later Friday to order online to get the coupon, but thought I'd ask.

The 12:01 CST thing isn't for using the coupon, it's for getting the coupon, so it's not from a leaked copy. You can go to Target.com and look at the BF ad for your specific store, and find the page about the coupon. It says 12:01CST in my ad, and I'm on the East Coast.

So I think I missed something. So if I go at 8 and get the sale items I want, I cannot wait to check out until 12:01 because the sale price is not valid? I can't find that anywhere. If so, that butchers my plan!

What I meant was if they are timed events, meaning price is good for one hour or two hours type of thing.

No the price will stay the same. If you can sit in a target for 4hrs more power to you!

However, do note that certain items may need to be purchased immediately... They won't let you wander the store with them for 4 hrs.

For example, iPads may need to be purchased at the electronics register as soon as they give them to you.

I'm beginning to think that they may have changed the rules.

I know where I can go to find a 5 of 50 coupon at Target.com any time (retailmenot). On a whim, I decided to try and use it on a Disney GC.

It would not work, even when I put a pencil skirt and some earrings in the basket too.

Oh well. At least I can still use the coupon on regular things (Target.com always has shoes long after the stores have sold out.) and get free shipping over $50. (I just return the extra to the B&M. Oh who am I kidding. . .half to 3/4 of the time, I like the extra I ordered so much, I keep it. . .)

However, I don't think I'll be shopping at Target B&M on BF. I'm sure my little bit of business isn't worth a hill of beans to Target, but what the hey, they just lost that speck of sand in their business.
