I just spoke to my local Target MGR. about the Day after Thanksgiving sale, I was told they do not give out tickets to the first people in line. you need to make a mad dash to find the item first. PLUS AT THIS STORE YOU NEED TO BE #1 OR #2 BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE 2 OF THE SPECIAL 40" TV'S. I guess I wont bother to get in line for that special. I dont usually wait in line but thought I would go early so I could get something special for my daughter. For those of you looking for this item GOOD_LUCK!!

Only TWO at the advertised special Black Friday price??

Exactly one of the main reasons I do not do Black Friday shopping!

Ridiculous.

And that is how people end up trampled. We don't have Black Friday up in Canada but there is no way I would ever get up in the middle of the night to save a few bucks.

This isn't anything new-all stores have limited numbers of their loss leaders for Black Friday. This TV is over half off. We are looking at a washer/dryer pair at Sears, each store gets 4 sets-says so right in their ad, big deal. That is part of the "fun" on Black Friday for those that want to participate.

Now, I am a little miffed that the black friday ad site mistyped the price on a TV I was looking at and is $400 MORE then what they originally had on their ad

I thought that several years ago they started having to put the number they would have in their ad. If not, they should have to. If I see "only four per store", I don't even think about trying to get the item. Not worth the fight. And I am sure others would do the same.

Just a note: Not all door busters are so limited, you just have to be careful. And it depends on the store. Our Walmart will have so many of their door buster electronics sometimes there will be stacks of them still out Friday night or even Saturday. May not be true this year as there may be more people looking for the deals, but it has been for the last 3 or 4 anyway. Best Buy, Sears, TRU, Office Depot will all have low numbers on the big ticket items. Home Depot is pretty good about having a limited number but a large enough stock to at least make it worth your while for showing up at 4am.

The store probably only has two remaining, but I would guess they started out with a few more. There are people that are going into the store and demanding they sell them the TV early and then are going to go back during the sale hours and get a price adjustment. I just think that is wrong. I understand wanting to get a good deal and trying to get the sale items. Heck, I'll be out shopping and having a blast doing it, but I think it is wrong to go buy things early and then expect the store to price adjust your item. If you ask me this is the reason why stores don't want there ads leaked early.

NO No no no no

2 ONLY!!

I work at Target and all the stuff coming in this week is BLACK FRIDAY ONLY!!!

We are NOT allowed to sell it beforehand if it is a major Doorbuster in the Ad. That store has 2 TVs and that's it! And my store does not give price adjustments on Black Friday. No rainchecks either. Only price adjustments for Black Friday would be for mis-prints in the AD, not anything you bought last week.

I have no idea how many TVs my Target got, and I don't even care. Its gonna be all I can do to start work at 2am and finish at 12:30 that afternoon.

Oh and about the leaking Ads, Target leaked the Ad back in August or Sept. Google it and you'll find it NP. We did it on purpose

People are already buying this tv and going back in Friday for the pricematch. There is a whole thread over at slickdeals on how it works.

Well, someone better tell people on other message boards about this because they are at least trying to do this. Plus, there are threads about the price adjustment policy and wether they will or will not be adjusting the prices on Friday.

Exactly the same thing is happening on the gottadeal forums. Someone has posted the DPI codes and everythng and there are several stories of people at the stores at least trying to get the TV. Personnally, I don't agree with it and think it is wrong, but there are people at least trying to do it.

Well, all I can tell you is that the Target I work at doesn't let you do that on Black Friday, or at least we haven't in the past. I have no control on how other stores do it. My district tends to be really strict about the rules and is 1 of the top performing districts in the company. Other districts are more lax I know.

Neither of our Walmarts nor our Target will adjust prices for BF deals. Doorbuster or any other sales for that day. They put signs up about this today. Its a job to get Walmart of admatch that day and on something they won't.

We've had a reporter working on Black Friday stories for 3 weeks now. Great prices are common, and just as common are the extremely limited number of sale items available. 2, or 3 or 4 per store is VERY common. No price matching is also common, and another tweak to prevent it, many of the sale items are brands or models the stores don't normally carry.
This year's big trend has been the "early" Black Fridays that have been happening every Friday since the Friday before Halloween, where stores have great prices, but again only 2 or 3 or 4 per store.
And if you REALLY want to save money, and want to avoid the lines, wait until January to make your purchase.
