Target $10 off $40 in-store pick up purchase

I had issues with their website a few weeks ago when there was no promotion and it's the same now. When I click on "Find in Store", it gets hung up and that is the problem I had before.

I didn't have problems using the site until this summer, I have had a few issues trying to use their website. If the discount is supposed to encourage more people to order online, I don't know that they are going to see a positive result from that.

You're right about that. I was able to make my initial purchase yesterday of my kids' lunchboxes and backpack and when I tried to see if they had any clothes I could pick up up it kept saying unable to retrieve store information. Ok, fine. They probably didn't have his size.

But then I tried to purchase paper towels, laundry detergent etc. and it said the same thing. I emailed Target and told them they should try fixing that problem the next time they have a deal like this. I will probably now buy these things elsewhere, unfortunately for them.

Yep, I'm also having the "unable to retrieve store information" and have been since last night. I keep trying to no avail.

I've also been trying since last night to place an order but the website gets hung up on finding a store. I should have ordered a few days ago b/c a lot of stuff is now also out of stock but oh well, guess lesson learned :(

I was having the same trouble ordering online, so I tried the target app. I was able to order and get the $10 off $40 in store pickup just fine.

I had a lot of trouble. Some of my order wasn't available at the store I chose, so I had to change some of the order to home delivery and some to another store because it couldn't be delivered to my house. Then some of the order got cancelled. Also my cart got emptied in the middle of placing the order and I had to start all over again.

I went to one store to pick up and it took forever. then the guy comes back carrying the items in his hands. I had to ask for bags and then he had to go back to get the rest of the items (I guess he couldn't carry it all). Now my husband has to stop at the other store on his way home from work. I hope he has better luck then I did.

Ugh! Bordering on not worth it :faint:

I had the same problem last night and this morning but it seems to be working now.

My experience with Target pick up at store.

DS wanted another xbox controller. Target online had the best price, $35.99. I figured that I might as well get that up to $40 for the $10 discount so I added a movie (The Hobbit). I was informed my order was ready. Then I was informed that the movie was not available for store pick up. I arrived at the store to pick up my item and told them what happened. After a lot of confusion Target decided to give me the online price of the controller and let me pick something in the store to get my total over $40. I had paid for part of my order with a gift card. I asked if that money would be returned to the gift card and was assured that it would be. Has not happened yet-it is three days later.

Ordered paper supplies (TP, paper towels) Thursday night (8 pm) and ordered more stuff for DS (ipod & xbox chargers) on Friday. Went to pick them up this morning. My Thursday night order had been canceled because I had not picked them up yet. They had to run around and get all the stuff again. The Friday order was there ready for me.

Both times I went to pick up items the pick up area had long lines and everyone seemed confused. I do not understand why my Target has taken out the service desk and and incorporated service in with the check out registers. Is every Target this way? The lines were not from people picking item, they were regular shoppers with their purchases.

I appreciate the $10 discount but I will not be using pick up in store again unless there is incentive to do it.

It is still not working for me, even in Firefox. Half the items I had in my cart are now OOS. I give up. It's reached the point it's not worth 10 measly dollars anymore.

I placed an order last night for a backpack DD wanted, and laundry detergent just because I needed it (a single container, not part of the gift card deal lots of folks are trying to work). It took awhile to work around all of the website issues, but eventually I got the order placed. I received the $10 off $40 the order, plus my redcard discount PLUS I had 2 pharmacy reward online coupons that I used.

So, not a fabulous ordering experience but I got the job done. But of course it couldn't have gone smoothly from there! I got a notice that the backpack was ready for pickup this morning, but the laundry detergent was out of stock. My options were to pick it up at a different store 15 miles from where the backpack was, cancel the item and lose the $10 because my order would now be below $40, or cancel both items and replace the order at the second store but then I would lose the 10% pharmacy rewards I had used because they were one-time use coupons

I chose what I felt the lesser of those 3 evils, and elected to pick up the laundry detergent up at the 2nd store. But when I did that, the lovely Target system decided I needed to pay extra sales tax - more than 1% more on the total order. The two stores are in the same city and county, same as my home address, and I KNOW they all have the exact same sales tax rate, so I'm not sure why the heck the system decided I suddenly had to pay extra.:confused3 At this point, that was the straw that broke the camel's back and I was FED UP with the whole fiasco and called customer service. 20 minutes on hold. :rolleyes1 Oye. But at least the person I got understood the problem, cancelled the first order, placed the second order for me (because by now the system was erroring whenever you tried to locate a store again!), and manually gave me the extra 10% discount to recoup my lost pharmacy rewards. In all, it took me close to 25 minutes working with the agent to get it done (on top of the 20 minutes on hold).

Not a fun experience to say the least :sad2:

I found the experience to be beyond frustrating. Four different ways of trying to order, could only order 1 of any particular item (Really, I couldn't order three containers of Tide?!? :confused3 ). The small items I wanted weren't available for pickup so I had to hunt around to find extra items I needed to balance out the order. I had trouble with getting the computer to find a store (any store) for instore pickup and when I did the item would be instock, it would add the items, finally to the cart and then magically the cart was empty because the items were no longer in stock (again really??). And then like magic pixiedust: some headphones I ordered last year for Christmas reappeared in my cart and I couldn't delete them. Tried exiting, rebooting the computer, deleting everything else out of my cart. The cart magically emptied on it's own and they reappeared when I added something I wanted :sad2: after about half an hour finally I got them out of my cart by saving them for later :headache: I finally got one order place yesterday morning and another yesterday evening. The order I placed yesterday morning and the one I placed in the afternoon weren't ready until this morning (good thing I didn't need the items until today). I got there and everything was ready but it took the service rep several minute to find everything because apparently nothing was stored with anything else and even more minutes to process the orders. Like PP at first she wasn't going to give me bags and in the end didn't give me bags for the Tide I ordered.

On a positive note, the Tide (and Downy since I could only buy one of any given kind of Tide) was on sale with a $10 GC, the razor blades and shampoo I bought had a $5 GC, the Downy I bought with the Tide was $2 less than the store price. I did get two $5 off $50 coupons when I picked up the order and she applied that to the regular grocery order I had just finished.

In addition, for anyone who is doing the Tide deal this week - P&G is offering a $10 prepaid visa rebate for anyone who spends $30 or more on Tide, bouce, Downy or Gain now thru the end of September. :yay: So I'm actually going to save $30 on that order :cool1:

Would I do it again - only if they offer an incentive.

ETA - well, I did it again, but as mentioned only because of the incentive - 5 pr of jeans for middle DS for $28.50. I had to have three pair shipped to get them all though and boy it was a nightmare to get the site to load.

I do not understand why Target chose to do this promotion when their website and resources clearly cannot handle it. :sad2: Shortly after I posted yesterday, my order did finally go through. I have not picked it up yet and the system says it's supposed to be held for 4 days. I plan to go tonight and will not be happy if it's not there and available.

Don't ask me why, I must enjoy frustration but I decided to place another order. I need hair color and my girls need shampoo/conditioner. There is a $5 GC for 3 Herbal Essence products. I filled my cart 3 times and it disappeared each time. Then it kept bringing up a zip code I used at my mother's which is several states away. THEN it changed to my town but keeps showing a store fairly far away in the city as my "home" store. I have never used that store and was signed into my Target account.

In any case, I did finally place the order. $33-$10 GC =$23 for 1 hair color, 6 big bottles of shampoo/conditioner & a jar of hair repair.

To top it off, I left the survey screen up as requested when it popped up. I planned to comment on all the issues. The survey literally showed question 1 - answer 1, answer 2; question 2-answer 1, answer 2 - I picked answers hoping that the real survey would populate but no such luck. I only hope I picked the negative answers if they feed into somewhere.

I was having problems, too, choosing the store for pickup. I did a Target "chat" and the person said to go to your cart icon when you check out and refresh the page. The icon is at the top right of the checkout page. I was able to then choose the store pickup.

Yup... Cluster here too! Similar situations as already posted, but alas, I got my discounts! Never again though without incentives as well!
