Ok guys,
What is the correct way to use the tapstile + fingers scanner? i.e. When I tap my band, do I:
1. wait until the light stops spinning,
2. wait until the light starts spinning slowly,
3. wait until the light starts spinning quickly
before I scan my finger?

What is the best process?

Hmmm, this will be interesting to see the replies. I do both at the same time. My magicband is on my left hand and I use my pointer finger on my right hand. I have never waited for any lights before scanning my finger.

So I have always tapped my band and held it to the scanner until it turned solid white. Then scanned my finger. I suspect that I am taking too much time. When you scan both at the same time, does that go really quickly or do you still have to wait on the spinning light to turn solid before it reads the finger?

If you do them both at the same time you don't have to even think about or watch the spinning.
If you do them both at the same time you don't have to worry about timing and it not going through.
If you do them both at the same time you will save time and be through super fast.

Most people just watch the touchpoint to see if it turns green.

The touchpoint searches for your ticket that is linked to MDE. The fingerscan searches for the fingerscan that is attached to your specific ticket that is in your MDE.

There shouldn't be a reason to wait for the touchpoint light when the fingerscan will be automatically matched up to the ticket.

Thanks for the info. I was always waiting for the spin to start to put my finger on, now I will do both at the same time!

My husband wears his watch on his left hand, his Magicband on his right hand and uses his pointer on his right hand. So he can't do it at the same time. I let him go to the first open tapstile, then I go and I usually am done before him. But we are only talking a few seconds. So, if you have a routine that works for you, I'd just stick to it :)

I wear the band on my right and the finger I use is on the right hand so I touch the touchpoint and then put my finger on the scan right after.
I never noticed if it was spinning already - probably was.

Me too. Seems the most efficient to me. My kids wear the band on the right hand and just crisscross their arms to do the finger scan at the same time.

I wear my MagicBand on my right wrist and use my right pointer finger. I've never had a problem touching the band until the white light swirls around at a faster pace, and then putting my finger down until the light all turns green. I usually get through faster than at least 90% of the people who are around me.

This is what I do too!

Ok,
So it seems that the consensus for the fastest way is to scan band and finger at the same time. I'll have to give that a shot next month.
Thanks.

I usually do scan, then finger, even though I wear my band on the non scanning hand. You may be missing the point though. The most important thing to do is to make sure to use your group to cover both stations on your side, but only use one of them. Bonus points if you have a large enough group/stroller to cover the 2 across from you as well while still each waiting to use the same one. :rolleyes1

JD. I've seen that strategy executed to perfection a number of times. I assume they are trying to limit access to the park so that lines are shorter. :)
