Tap in, leave DHS, then join later BG?

Was wondering if you could tap in at DHS, leave the property, then join a BG.

I want to get there early solo, tap in, drive back to our off site property to pick up the family for AK rope drop then return solo for a late afternoon BG.

Also, can you see what number the BGs are at before selecting? If not, get a BG#, then cancel and getting another (later) one?

yes you can tap, join a bg, then leave. You have 2 hours to come back once your bg is called
You cannot see what time of day the BG is giving out, but you could go to a Guest experience CM (blue shirts) and ask them what time of day the bg are on, afternoon, late afternoon, evening, they are able to see this on their ipad. You can also use the chart to get an idea.

1) Can you tap in at the park (not join a BG), leave the park, THEN join a BG.

and

2) Can you obtain a BG, cancel it, and re-obtain another one?

yes your original question was misunderstood
1) yes you can do that but if you don't join a bg right away you will risk a chance of all bg being gone, they have been booking anywhere between 30min to an hour after the tapstiles open
2) you cannot cancel a bg and then try again, again you risk the chance of all bg being full.
