Tanya & Dan's VR DCL!!!Dec 4, 2009 MK & Epcot Photoshoot Pics Posted

That's so exciting! Your original proposal story is great, but I can't wait to here if something special happened at CRT. princess:

You're dress is beautiful and your hair is really cute! I love the highlights. Once you learn how to multi-quote it will make things much easier!
Thanks!
YAY! I multi -quoted!!

surfweb:

Just read through your PJ! YAY for DCL brides! The dress and tiara look amazing on you, esp. w/your new longer hair and highlights! I like DD's blue FG dress much better than the white one. Good choice!

And I cannot believe you have your planning kit in already! I'm jealous! I don't have any of it filled out yet and our wedding's 2 months before yours!:rotfl::
I had to fill it out b/c I change my mind so often. I am sure that I will still make changes b4 the ceremony gets here.

YAY!!! Thats such a wonderful suprise!!!! You must be sooo happy. The castle is so awesome. I want to see tons of pictures!

I wanted to say that I LOVE the shoes! Who makes them? You look super cute in the bride ears and I just wanted to let you know that my dad has the bow-tie and cummerbund that match the mickey vest. He wears them all the time to non-disney events in the city. :rotfl:

Anyhoo hope you have the most amazing day ever tomorrow!!!

I love, love, love the castle and took tons of pics! I am working on getting them up now.
The shoes I found on ebay - where I do most of my shopping! I don't know who makes them, I'll have to look when I get them. I really like some Christian Louboutin shoes, but they were WAYY out of my price range. I think Sabrina got them.

I had to share this with everyone. I think the people on the DISboards are probably the only ones who truly understand how exciting this is! My DH took me to the MK as a surprise. This might take a while b/c I have a lot of pics.
Here are a several pics from that day:

I copied and pasted this off the main wedding board - so it is a little repetitive.

My DH and "decided" to get married 10 yrs ago, I have always told him that I wanted to get "engaged" at the castle. I kept hoping that it would happen this year since we have been able to go a lot and since we had tried on anniversary bands around Christmas. He told me that he wasn't able to afford a band for me and that it would have to wait a couple of years since we are paying for our VR. He's such a good lier!!

I knew that something was up this week b/c he kept acting funny all week. Then he brought me home a dozen red roses - my favorite - and a very sweet mushy card. This is something that he hasn't done in years. Then on Wed., he told me I had to cancel the kids' eye doctor appointment for Thurs. I was upset b/c this Dr is a specialist, and it takes weeks to get into see him. So after I had a fit, my husband tells me that we are going to eat dinner inside the castle at the MK! So of course now I feel like a butt for getting upset.

I decided to dress my DD up in her Cinderella costume since that is her favorite princess , and we were going to see her. We got so much attention from cast members all day long! We were given buttons and stickers and fast passes and all kinds of stuff. We got to ride a total of 7 rides, and we had virtually no wait at any of them. However, Peter Pan did break down while we were over London, and I did freak out a little! LOL! But thankfully it didn't last long.

My DH and I got into an argument in the car ride there over him not remembering to pack some things. I was so mad by the time we actually got off the tram, that I wasn't speaking to him. Then some women litterally ran my little princess over!! Just completely bulldozed her and skinned both of her knees. It was awful. When we got into the park, I had to take the kids to the bathroom, then we stopped to eat our lunchables, and my DH told me I had to take the kids to the bathroom again. I was really angry by this point and told him that I was not having a magical day. I didn't come to Disney to see the bathrooms. He promised me that he would make it up to me later and to just calm down.

So then the light went off in my head and I realized that all the bathroom trips and not going on rides were b/c he was up to something again, and once again I felt like a complete butt! I can be sooo mean! So I decided to calm down and finally enjoy our day, and the rest of it was just amazing!

Once we got seated at our table in the castle, he pulls out a box from Arribas Bros. and sets it on the table in the middle. I keep staring at it, but he doesn't say anything. He get really shy and nervous when it comes to things like this, so I guess he was working up the nerve to do it. A few minutes later, he opens the box - now he was really nervous! - and inside is a glass slipper with Dan loves Tanya engraved on the side and a diamond anniversary band inside!!! I looked at it and was in shock! I literally gasped, and he took that as a bad sign. LOL! He got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him again. I said yes of course. It was sooo sweet.

I wish we could have gotten a pic of the actual proposal, but I think that he would have fainted if that had happened. He said he was just too scared to ask someone to do it. Plus he figured I wouldn't be surprised if someone was standing there with a camera in our face. It was sweet and perfect just the same. After dinner we watched Spectromagic and stayed for wishes, and had a great view. It was perfect. I love him so much for making my dreams come true!!

Love your plans! I hear you with the school thing-I graduate in 20 days...but who's counting! :rotfl:
Love the pics! Can't wait to see more!

This is totally off topic for weddings but I graduate on June 15th!!! So I will be so excited when school is finished. I feel like my VR is my graduation present.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I thought my e-ring would have been my graduation gift...but I got it sooner! I'm letting Carrie's book be my graduation gift to myself. If I bought it sooner I would not have made it through this semester!!! :rotfl:

I love your proposal story! How great that your kids were able to be there for such a special moment too:goodvibes! They are adorable btw! You guys look so happy in all your pics, love it love it love it:thumbsup2

Thanks! I think that my kids are really cute too, but I am kind of biased. :rotfl:

We are really happy. We feel so blessed to have our family. Plus who couldn't be happy at Disney world?

haha I think that kind of bias is allowed:rotfl2: But they are adorable, I happen to think the cutest things in the world are 1) Little boys in glasses and 2) little girls dressed up in fancy clothes
your kids have them both covered lol! Such cuties Tanya!

yey for an awesome day at the MK!!!

I agree with Sam, little boys in glasses are adorable. I love that your pics make it look like you guys are the only ones in the park!

It was not very crowded at all that day. There was barely any wait times on the rides either! A wonderful Disney day!

I have so much to update. I took pics of our food at the Royal Table. It was wonderful and very yummy. I'll have to upload them soon.

Here is a pic of my ring

And a pic of some of the presents my DH has been giving me throughout the week. He snagged them while we were in the parks, and has been surprising me all week long. I have been really spoiled lately!
He got me a Cindy and Prince figurine, and a set of M&M s&p shakers - they are the smaller ones on the left.

We have done so much in the past week, that I don't even know where to begin! First off, due to construction on the castle, I will have to reschedule my MK photo shoot to May 2010!!! :scared1:

This is b/c there will be cranes and scaffolding on the castle. I was offered for them to shoot around it, but I don't want to shoot around it!! (Bridezilla warning) This is a once in a lifetime deal, so I don't want to screw it up. I want the best I can get, so I'll just have to be patient and wait.

The bad news is that I won't have our pics done in time for our at home party.:sad2: But the good news is that I'll be able to afford to add on pics at Epcot as well!!!:yay:

I'll have to sit down with my DH and pick a date in the next couple of days.

I have also gotten toasting flutes finally!:cheer2:

I have no idea how I am going to get all of this on the ship - but I will!

Here is the tux vest that I finally got my DH & DS. It doesn't have the black lapels on it, but I was able to get the correct size for my DH, and a matching one for my DS. I didn't get the bowties, we just got black ones instead:

Another update that we have been working on -

We finally chose our at home reception/anniversary party location!!!:yay::yay:

It is Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda. It is a gorgeous park on the water with views of the large bridge. It has a fishing pier, a gazebo, a small beach, pavillions with picnic tables, a playground, tennis courts, a large fountain - where we can have a brick paver engraved - and a large grassy landscaped area.
Here are some pics from our location trip yesterday:

We really want this to be a fun, laid back, family experience - so this was perfect for what we want.
I think that we are going to start off with us in our wedding attire, and not have a whole ceremony, but have a blessing at the gazebo. I also want to release a pair of white doves.
Then we will cut our cake - we'll probably just have a large sheet cake -and then change out of our clothes and into Mickey Hawaiian shirts. :rotfl:

I still want it Disney themed, but I am at a loss for what direction to go with this. We want to have a small popcorn and cotton candy machine, plus food like fried chicken and potato salad. But I want to have some decor, and some sort of Disney related center pieces. Plus it can get windy out there, so I can't have candles, or anything light.

Any thoughts and advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Wow you have done so much! The Grooms hat sisn't fit my DH either. He wore a "groom" visor. Love the pink shoes. Oh Pink Crinnie do it do it! The Crinnie from Bavid's Bridal dyed really well with two boxes of Fushia RIT dye! I am so excited for you! What are they doing to the Castle? Oh No? I don't want my Castle Pictures ruined in Nov.!

Cute pictures!!! I think the spot sound great! You could get some mickey hawaiian fabric and make mickey table cloths for the picnic table and use the mickey surfboard table cloth weights (from wdw) so they don't blow away.

For centerpieces I was at the Lilly Pullitzer store the other day and they had a short glass hurricane filled with sand with formal candle in a glass containor sitting in the middle. That would be heavy enough to not blow away or out (hopefully) and would be much cheaper than floral cenerpieces. Maybe you could even add some flowers minus the stems around the candles inside the hurricaines, just for a little bit of an accent color.

I love the fact that there a playground there - thats so perfect!

Thanks for the support on the pink! I can't wait for my shoes to get here, and I am totally on board for a pink crinnie!!!! I'll have to get one first...

It will probably be a while. Whenever I go back for my 1st fitting, I'll get one - that way I can try it on with the dress. I hope my dye job comes out ok - I'm not very good at that sort of thing! :rotfl:

As far as the castle - Karen at DPS doesn't really know either. They are doing some sort of refurbishment that is going to involve the crane and scaffolding. She said that they will only be doing one side at a time, and that they can shoot around it and photoshop it out. Being a photographer, I can tell when something is photoshopped, and I do not want this done to my pics - (Enhancements are ok) But unless someone is really good, you can usually tell where it was edited. Good luck on getting answers, and hopefully it won't affect you guys.
