As for being tan...I live near the beach and usually have a tan all summer. Even if I'm not spending a lot of time at the beach I'm still outside in the sun. I always feel better with a little color.

I love going tanning. I work next to a tanning place and they let me go for free all the time. Makes me feel awesome that I get things for free that people pay hundreds or thousands for. But the tanning itself feels so amazing. I'm a science major, I know it's not good for you, but it's just so awesome, I don't care.

I know it won't change anything, but I just have to post this. I have had skin cancer, and many family and friend with melanoma. Mock me if you will, I don't care. Tanning is just stupid, it is your skin's reaction to injury. Use self-tanners if you want the color (I do) but please don't let the sun damage you, or potentially maim or even kill you.

I don't lay in the sun, but even with SPF 50 I end up tanned from working in my yard.

I thought the same way, until my first melanoma showed up. Then I had a second one, and over a dozen suspicious moles removed too. I'd rather be pale and alive then suffer the pain and disfigurement I've been through so far.

Tanning booths were just starting out as a commercial business when I was a teen, and they marketed them as a 'safe tan'. NO SUCH THING!

well, my daughter was not a sun worshiper, she developed Melanoma stage 3 diagnosed at 8 months pregnant age 25. Maybe you should care! one week after given birth this is what she had to go thru, and it did not stop there!

This was just the beginning!
