I first heard about the Tanque Verde Ranch on this board, but can't find the original thread that mentioned it. We're trying to come up with some different vacation ideas for next year, and I was curious about this place. We have 3 kids, ages 14, 8, and 4, so it's sometimes hard finding a place that all three will enjoy.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has stayed there.
Thanks!
:D

Tucson is a lovely city, lots of outdoor activities to do, but certainly not very outdoor friendly in the summer... Aside from the activities at the ranch, it has what most other cities do, mini-golf and such, museums (DH loved the Titan Missle Museum) and places like Colossal Cave are great and family friendly. It is also a big bike riding place. Our parents are in Phoenix and Green Valley - so we've met up and done things with the other parents when visiting one set on our trips. We also have long time friends there. If you think they would enjoy desert trail hikes, that kind of thing, it is a nice place to visit.

I have a friend who has dinner at Tanque Verde every year for their anniversary. She loves it. She sent me a brochure but I don't have it at home. Did you google it? I remember that it was very expensive.

Thanks for the replies!
I did check out their web site (the place looks gorgeous!) and also read some reviews on Trip Advisor. I just figured I'd get as many opinions as possible.
Any more?

This is one of our vacation spots to come.

There was a poster a while back on the DVC board who talked about a trip there. I believe her name was Shantell and she worked for the Timeshare Store (maybe). Something like that. I wonder if you did a search if it would come up.

I've also looked at their information. One of these days we'll get there.

I haven't ever stayed there, but if you remember that show "Hey Dude" that was on Nickelodeon many years ago, it was filmed there!

I remember that show!!!!! That's too funny.

cgcw -- I'm going to search around a little bit and see if I can find that person's posts.

Thanks for the input everyone!:D

Dodie ~ thanks so much for the links! We have done Disney for so many years, and my husband wants to do something totally different this year. Tanque Verde sounds fantastic...my only reservation is that due to jobs and scheduling conflicts, we can only travel in June. I read that the average high is 99 degrees with a low of 67, and a humidity level of 23%.
But -- we're used to Florida (and New Jersey, for that matter) in August with 90% humidity. After all, it's not the heat, it's the humidity, right?:teeth:

Having lived in that area, I'll say it - HOT IS HOT! Imagine the "breeze" feeling like a hair dryer, or generally like the oven is running - that is what it is like outside. And the temperature is taken in the shade, not in the sun. For that time of year you might get lucky, but it is much more likely your days will be in the 100-105 range, cooling down the the 90s after dark, which is late because they don't change their clocks. However, Mount Lemon is right there, and they are very high altitude and a lot cooler. When we lived in Arizona our May or June vacation was usually to San Diego, cooler, lots to do, but lots to not do too...
