I was wondering about the Tanque Verde Ranch in AZ, I see that the points are listed for 1/1-4/30 does anyone know if you can use your points for any other months of the year? And how many? We were thinking about the first part of May.
Also how far in advance can I book it? In the Interval International it says 2 years to 14 days in advance but under the Concierge booking guidelines it says 11 months to 7 days. How do you go about booking this Ranch? Any info greatly appreciated,:wave2:

My guess is they haven't negotiated beyond that point. Actually many options don't have a points cost though the end of the year, many are only into Oct or November. Stein Erickson is only till March and same was true last year as well. Last year Tangue Verde was TBA for about the last 3-4 months if I recall correctly.

Thanks Dean,
I have been checking into the weather and April sounds like a good month to be in AZ. Do you or anyone else know how soon you can make ressie's for April 2005?:)

We stayed at Taunque Verde last August and had a great time, though it is very hot that time of year. So, there will probably be availability. It may be that the exchange rate hasn't been worked out, as a previous poster suggested or maybe it has been worked out and just wasn't released. I'd call Member services as April is probably a busy time there. You might also call the resort directly to see what they know.

The staff at Tanque Verde was very helpful. We thought we were checking out a day later than we actually were(totally our error!) , and they offered to call DVC if we wanted to use points for the extra day, or they told us we could check out even though it was 2 PM. We took about 1 1/2 hours to pack and they were very gracious about it.

You will use a fair amount of points to stay there, but the food is excellent, the surroundings are fantastic and if you like riding horses you will have a great time.

We had no trouble getting reservations there a few months ahead, but it is quiet in summer...the resort was about 25% full.

I can't speak for the resort or the best time from weather, etc. Check with the resort as to their peak times and best weather. Good luck.
