On the DDP, is the only dessert option at Tangierine Cafe @ Epcot baklava?
I absolutely hate baklava and was wondering if I can't get a different actual dessert if they have any fruit or bottled beverage that I could have instead...ANYTHING other than baklava! Even bottled water...LOL!![]()
We were told the baklava was the only option, and the CM working when we were there wouldn't sub a bottled water. I generally hate baklava too but actually really liked theirs, it doesn't have the strong honey taste that usually puts me off the stuff and had much more of a nutty, cinnamon-y flavor.
Well, that's a bummer. I guess we'll just forgo dessert at that meal. I have never had a tolerable taste of baklava. LOL! It is not very dessert-like to me. Oh well!
I never had either until that one, so you might want to give it a nibble just to check it out. Even the little old ladies at the Greek Orthodox church craft show/bake sale don't make one that I can tolerate, but I liked the one from Tangerine Cafe.

Maybe it doesn't taste authentic and that is what makes it taste yummy.I guess it won't hurt to try it since I can't sub something else. Maybe it tastes good because it's NOT authentic? LOL!Maybe it doesn't taste authentic and that is what makes it taste yummy.

Regarding subbing ... this is one CS restaurant where I can sum up the policy in 5 words: Dont even bother to ask![]()
Is this just regarding desserts or in general? I remember swapping the lentil salad for a bit more couscous a few years ago and was planning on subbing the tabuleh for more cous cous or lentil salad this next time.

Ooh that's a good question. I am assuming it is only dessert, but don't quote me on that. Put this way, I am positive that there is no trade up on the dessert allowed. But after reading your post I am rummaging around for our receipt from last September as I know that we asked them to give us extra cous cous in place of the lentils as DD and I shared and she doesn't eat lentils and we had no problem. However I cannot tell you whether that was a once off stroke of luck with an obliging CM or if they are flexible on that. I guess it won't hurt to ask. Just be prepared to eat Baklava after whatever you have for your main![]()
You're usually able to substitute sides if it's listed as a side on another entree on the menu (or in this case have a double portion of one side in place of the second one.)
