I'm the only one in my family who really likes lamb, so I'm thinking of getting a CS lunch at Tangierine Cafe @ EPCOT while the rest of the family gets baklava for a dessert/treat. Anyone had the lamb platter at Tangierine?

Also, the Casablanca Beer that they serve there, I was curious if it was a lager or a dark beer. Thanks!

I shared the Lamb Shawarma Wrap with my DH on our last trip...DELICIOUS!:cool1: This has become a must do lunch for us now.

I can not help you on your beer question, DH is a Bud Light man!

Yep. It's on the lighter side. OK as beers go, but I'm not a big fan...

I was there last week and had the vegetarian platter (swoon!) and a Casablanca. My companions both had the lamb schwarma and raved about it. The Casablanca was OK, a bit on the bitter side. It went really well with my dinner.

In order to assuage his guilt, my husband declared that Disney only serves vicious, free-range lambs. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Whatever works, babe. Whatever works.

The lamb at Tangierine cafe is delicious, I would definitely recommend it. And the beer is your typical lager, pretty similar to Bud.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone--and Piffle, please tell Mr. Piffle I will be using his very excellent excuse if the kids start to ask questions.

we ate here earlier this month for the first time and it was really good. everyone but me got the lamb/chicken plate (I got just chicken) and everyone enjoyed. there is also tahini and tabuleh on the plate with some bread for dipping. also enjoyed a nice cold casablanca along with the meals. nothing too special, more light than dark. the only thing I didnt like was the baklava as it was served from the fridge and had an odd cosistency.

DH and I split a Chicken and Lamb Sharwarma platter at Tangierine, and it was wonderful. The plate also included hummus, a cold couscous salad, and a parsley based salad, all excellent. I got a soda with the meal as part of the Dining Plan credit, but he also ordered a Casablanca and shared it with me -- excellent complement to the sharwarma. This was one of our favorite CS meals. :thumbsup2

i hate to be cynical, but whenever a beer is "International" and not from one of the real "beer countries", it's usually a lager/pilsner. china, Japan, italy, morocco, russia, I wouldn't expect to see anything but a base offering. mainly because these countries really have their own alcoholic offerings and beer is an afterthought for the beer drinkers.

That being said, if you go INSIDE Biergarten ( they don't sell it outside ), they sell an absolutely WONDERFUL doppelbock. If you're not familiar with the style, it's THE style you want to give to people who say "I don
t like dark Beer" because unlike a stout, it's a bit sweet and VERY rich. Absolutely delicious beer!

always get the lamb schwarma. i love it! i do not like the baklava though but that is only because i am greek and we make ours different.

Had the Sharwama platter combo, very tasty. One of the highlights of dining for us. They also have a frozen Tangerine Fruit slush that sounded great but I didn't try.

Thanks y'all for the great recommendations re Tangierine, much appreciated! Will definitely try the lamb and the Casablanca and I think my DW may go for the vegetarian platter. Thanks again!

Just to follow up, we tried Tangierine Cafe in Morocco and liked it very much. I had the lamb platter, DW had the vegetarian plate. Both were very good and we would eat there again. The Cafe was also not terribly crowded when we went which was another plus and the CMs were very friendly. I did try the Casablanca beer and thought it tasted just fine on a hot day, but yes, it was just a regular lager, nothing special but cold and refreshing.

Thanks again for all the feedback!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Tangierine Cafe has become my new favorite TS spot in Epcot.

Thanks for the info, I love doppelbocks. Do they have a bar area inside where I can just walk in and grab a beer, or do you need dinner reservations?

Do you remember what doppelbock they serve? I'm guessing its Spaten Optimator, since they serve the Spaten Lager outside, if I remember correctly.

I love the Tangerine Cafe. And once in a while I do have the lamb. :(

I'm really not sure, but that does sound right... I don't recall seeing a bar area. You really need to go in for dinner *I think*
