This airfair game is driving me nuts! Already booked our flight down on airtran from Rochester, but the return flight on Columbus Day (Oct9) has been too high. How far away is Tampa? Can do a return flight for $94. How long of a drive?

ThankS :wave2:

It's roughly two-two and a half hours and it really depends on traffic. I would just pay the $122.00 and fly out of MCO. To me it's not worth the hassle of finding transportation to TPA and you will be spending more money that way. Just my two cents.

Tampa is 70 some miles from WDW. It depends on the time of day how long it will take you.

We've flown into Tampa the last 2 times we went to Disney. Once on the weekend and once on Monday. The airport is very easy to fly into and pick up a rental car at. We took the wrong exit onto the highway the first time, so be careful there if you do it.

Both times it was no longer than an hour and 15 minutes. Disney is on the very south end of Orlando so mapquest shows the Tampa-Orlando trip as at least 10 minutes longer than it is to Disney.

Granted, I'm originally from Mass and drive pretty fast, and the speed are really high in Florida.

We always check both places, it's not like it's a 5 minute drive from MCO.

I made this trip TPA to orlando in February and I agree right around an hour. We are also from MA and view the speed limit as the mark you can go 10 mph above. Good luck with planning

I made the drive last Sat morning, around 9ish. It took about 90 minutes. I usually drive on the fast side also, but tend to slow down a bit if I'm in unfamilier territory. And there were a fair number of places where the traffic was bumper to bumper for a bit....mostly rubbernecking. But, it was an easy drive.
