OK I am down to Budget -in the airport or National -shuttle. National is about $40 cheaper for a full size (Buick Regal) vs a Mercury Marquis from Budget. Mainly because Budget charges for an extra driver. I know National and like them. Does anyone have any experience with Budget? I am using coupons for each for upgrades -they are not guarenteed. Should I stick with National and deal with a shuttle bus or go for convenience (and a slightly larger car) from Budget?

Thanks

the shuttle ride is 5 minutes. Access to the highway from National is a cakewalk. National does charge for extra drivers unless you are a member of the Emerald Club. Given the choice, I would go with National. They list the Regal as an example of what they have for full size cars, it does not mean you will get one. Actually, you would be better off with an Impala or Intrepid.

We've used National the last two trips to Tampa. It was very easy to catch the shuttle. It's on the same level as baggage claim. I doubt if it even takes 5 minutes and shuttles run continously so there's hardly any wait if you just miss one. As the previous poster said, it's really easy to get on the highway from their off site location.

We're using Budget at Tampa in Oct. We went with the Mercury Marquis for $228 for a week with our convention code. We like not having to use the shuttle. There a 4 of us (all adults) and lots of luggage plus a set of golf clubs. The Marquis will give us plenty of luggage space, even if we have to put some of the smaller stuff up front.
