TAmpa Bay Buc Station Tours????

Okay, I admit it, my son is a big Bucs fan - as only an 8 year old can be - so we are going to Florida in April - what's the scoop on seeing the Stadium and is it going to be worth it?

Rae, are you asking if they offer public tours of Raymond James stadium?

I'm not sure if they do tours, but if you give me a few days, I'll find out for you.

If they do have them, I think it would be worth it to any Bucs fan! The Pirate Ship and Buccaneer Cove are pretty neat!

I think that the experience would be something that might be the highlight of his trip.

Years ago when our oldest (23) was about 5, we went to Dallas and a kind security guard let us see the inside of the stadium. It was awesome. No tours, but still - a very nice thing for someone to do for a child. Child grew up to be a BIG Emmitt Smith fan!!

Rae, that experience is not just for children! On our first trip to Boston years ago, DH was dying to see Fenway Park. This was in January, and I was sure the park would be closed, but he is a die-hard baseball fan and a former college player (legend in his own mind, if you know what I mean ) so away we went.

We saw an open gate, and went inside. Kept expecting some kind of employee to appear and tell us we had to leave. We didn't see a soul, and walked out into the stands. DH went down on the field and ran the bases. We never saw any security!

It was the highlight of his trip, and the only downer was that "I" forgot to bring the camera!

Unfortunately, I think security at all those types of facilities is probably different now, after 9/11. But I do have someone I will call and see if they offer anything to the public.
