Tampa Airport need NICE hotel!

Hi, I am flying into Tampa on Friday for a friend's funeral and need a NICE hotel near the airport that I can book now??? Any HELP is appreciated!! Joan

There are quite a few hotels in Tampa that are near the airport.

Some very close nicer hotels -
Renaissance at the nearby mall (I think the mall is called International Mall or International Plaza, something like that)
Grand Hyatt on Bayport Drive
Hilton on North Lois Avenue
Doubletree Suites on North Rocky Point Drive
Crowne Plaza on West Kennedy Boulevard

and some others that are close by and aren't bad either -
Another Hyatt on West Main Street
Another Doubletree on West Cypress Street
a Courtyard that a little bit further away from the airport also on West Cypress
Embassy Suites on North Westshore Drive

A group of very nice hotels are located on the water about five or six miles from the airport - a Sheraton, a Westin and a Marriott are over there. I noticed some lower-end hotels in that area, too.

Try hotwire.com. Usually can find a 4* with shuttle for a decent price.

Are you planning to stay in the hotel overnight? Some of the hotels I found at hotwire.com are Westshore Hotel, South Tampa Hotel, Tampa Airport North Hotel, Downtown Tampa Area Hotel, Busch Gardens, North Clearwater - Oldsmar Area Hotel and St. Petersburg - Clearwater IntLl Airport PIE Area Hotel.
