Tampa 2010 RV Supershow

The 2010 Tampa RV Supershow is January 13-17 at the Florida State Fairgrounds (I-4 & US Hwy 301). I wonder how "super" it's going to be now that 3/4 of the RV manufacturers are out of business???

Admission is $8.00 pp, and I know there's a fee for parking of about $7.00. We've gone to this show for as long as I can remember, but I'm not too keen on paying $16.00 for the two of us if there's not much to look at.

Anyhow - I thought I'd post this in case anyone staying at FtW during this time would like to go. It takes a little over an hour to get from the Fort to the State Fairgrounds.

I looked at the vendor layout and all of the major companies are there. We're going on Thursday just for the fun of it.

I hope it's more entertaining for you than the Nashville Boat and Sports Show that wrapped up here this weekend. $8.00 admission, thankfully only $2.00 to park so I'm only out $10 and an hour and a half of my life I'll never get back!

Many vendors not there, the outside halls leading into the convention center usually packed with vendors...empty! Absolutely no houseboats inside like they usually have, two large Regal cruisers probably no larger than 36 feet or so, rest was bass, pontoon and deck boats and home improvement folks bugging the you know what out of you to buy replacement windows.

Think it's another month or so before we have a camper show here, as for next year's boat show, I'm done!

We have attended the show for the past 4 years. If you go to the website- you are able to print a 1.00 off coupon good for (2) adults - 2 day admission. Children 16 - under are free. Lazydays and Camping World are about 10 - 15 minutes away. You can view the site map for the event. It is indoors and outdoors. You should problably be done in 2- 21/2 hours depending on how many RV you go inside and view. We live about 15 minutes from the fairgrounds and enjoy going just to look around and see what freebies we can get or discounts to local rv campgrounds in the area. Sometimes Camping World is on-site with some really good deals on merchandise. Last year we purchased an outdoor patio mat - really large for under $20.00.

Richie just took the MH out there, we are supposed to be staying the whole week, it's to cold for me tonight so I am staying home. He will be there most of the week with golf carts. Let us know if anyone is coming.

I will find out what both Richie has the golf carts in and let you know. I know it with prevost, which I guess its better being next to a MH that u know u can never afford, then being in the same both with something that maybe u can afford and trying to figure out how to do it.

Loads of venders and more RV's than you'll have time to look at. We were there for 5 hours and didn't even come close to looking at them all. We plan to go the Tampa show Saturday. Anyone heading to the show - be aware of the traffic issues on I-4 heading East towards Plant City Lakeland Area. It is shut down to (1) lane and now the detour on Hwy. 92 a sink hole was discovered. So the traffic will be horrible. Anyone else have any updates on the show?? The weather will be good today - Saturday showers and thunderstorms all afternoon starting around 1:00pm - last through Sunday sometime in the afternoon.

We went on Friday. Sorry Lorna - but I never saw Richie although Rick & I were looking for him.

I think Camping World moved their whole store to the RV show! They had one half of an exhibition building!!

There were a lot more TT's on display than I've ever seen in the past. I didn't see a lot of Class C's. I was really impressed by the Class A's that are finally set up to accommodate more than two adults. Very creative space usage!!

My dream RV is now the Itasca Meridian 34Y. I currently have the Itasca Meridian 32 - which I love - but the floor plan of the 34Y with the full body slide it just the ticket!! Love, love, love it! No money to buy it however.

Overall, I enjoyed the show.

Deb, thanks for looking for him. He was in and out all day. He was with Heritage MH, they were outside with the black Prevost Shell, they had sold all their finished MH's before the show. Rich couldn't put up Alumacar signs, because he was part of their booth and they didn't register the co. name. But he is going to do a few more shows with them in FL.
Kelly was there and we did meet up with her and Stacy and Britney, had dinner with them and had a great time. We will meet up some time. Glad u enjoyed the show, I did also. I didn't get to see as many MH as I wanted to, but there was one when u come out of the main building, that I love, has a 60 inch tv in the bedroom that when u pull down turns into a bed. I also love the 2 and 3 million dollar units. But must be happy with what we have, because I don't think I will ever have the money to trade it in.

Wow ~ Great RV Show! Yes there were tons of Travel Trailers - but WOW~ the options that they come with now. Loved the outdoor kitchen set-ups! Great prices as well. Went to the Camping World Exhibit Hall where they were selling merchandise - since it was the end of the day on the last day - they were selling any floor model item out of it's package for dirt cheap! We got a Fabric Reclining Lounger for 39.00, Collapsable Garbage Can - 3.00 and a huge outdoor Mat - 20.00! Great deals. Arrived at 11:15 left after 4:00. Great Show!
