Tamp airport, anything I need to know?

We are flying into TPA in December at a very busy time. Dec 23rd. And back out on the 2nd at 9:00 am. Renting a car. Any in's and out's I need to know that will be helpful?

The one time we used TPA, the representative told us the be there at a certain time (I think 6 AM for an 8:00 flight) and the airport wasn't open yet. The car rental attendant laughed at us for believing her. Then we sat for an hour with no coffee shops open, and not being able to go through security.

Make sure you have the times you need.

We are flying to tampa next month. We are picking our rental up around 11 pm. From what I have read most of the shops will be listed but rental and security should be open.
