Does anyone know where I could buy one of these tiki mugs? I think they may have once sold them at the Polynesian.

I drank out of one at the Tambu Lounge there and didn't know I wanted one for myself until I left the World last weekend

I found some on ebay but they're the frosted ones - I'm looking for the clear one just like the one on the left of the photo below.

I bought four of these for my Mom & Dad when we stayed at the Poly in April of 2005. I bought a drink at the Tambu Lounge and when I was served my drink it came in that mug. I loved the mug and asked the Bartender where I could purchase them. He said they can be purchased downstaires at the News of Polynesia. That store no longer exists since the Poly has shifted its shopps around. I would think you could purchase them at Boutique, but I don't know for sure.

If you call the Polynesian and ask to be transfered to Boutique they should be able to tell you if they still carry them.

My Mom & Dad use them all the time for mixed drinks and Ice Cream Sundays.

Keep checking Ebay they pop on there all the time. We are collectors of Tiki mugs and we have bought a few from EBay of the clear one in your picture.

We have one but we got it right in the lounge that night.

Yes I was recently at the Polynesian and purchased that exact tiki glass downtairs at the Bou-tiki, I also bought a cocunut tiki mug as well..my grand kids love them as it reminds them of our trip

I finally got around to looking more into this.

I called the Polynesian this morning @ 407-824-2000 and the fellow I spoke with at Boutiki said that they don't carry them, just mostly t-shirts but suggested checking Trader Jack's and hung up.

I called the resort back, requested to speak with Trader Jack's and the woman I spoke with asked if I was a guest. I said no, but I was looking for something to purchase. She said she was going to put me in touch with the Mail order folks.

The woman that answered at the Mail order line said they don't have anything like that but could contact Trader Jack's for me to check. She came back and said they don't have anything like that.

Apparently bartenders only offer these to guests on an individual basis. So, I suppose that eBay is the route to go in case anyone else was interested or wait til our next WDW trip :) I'm going to a Mai Tai party in late May and was hoping to have them by then!

Well, Boutiki has things one day and gone the next....however, they did have these clear ones (in large numbers I might add) when I was there March 10-19th.

I remembered this thread as soon as I saw them. Sorry, I could have picked them up for you and had them sent. Also, the person you spoke to at Boutiki was wrong in that they have lots of other things with Polynesian logos, etc on them besides Tshirts. I have two coffeemugs sitting right here, for one. They were right next to the glasses.

Yeah, that seemed wrong to me too but I didn't want to press the issue at the time - I probably should have :P

I have two of the clear glasses. I first time I was ever at the POly lounge, back in 1977, I was given the two glasses free of charge. I cannot remember if it was a special buy a drink keep the glass, it might have been.

a wonderful souvenir, hope you find one (or two)

just 123 days until next visit to WDW
:hourglass

Brad ~~ Here's just another thought........... a lot of the people on these boards are very nice and willing to help people out!! Perhaps if you post your situation on a poly thread, someone going soon may be able to check for you and even possibly get them for you. I do know that we were there in Feb. and they sold mugs......... don't recall if they had the specific one you are wanting, but they DID have mugs!!!! :) Sounds like the person you spoke too perhaps was having a less than magical day!!!! Anyway, I'd try posting over there, you may have good luck!!! ( I'm not going again till Sept. or I'd look for you!!)

When I bought ours (in December) I believe they were either five or ten dollars per glass. They are great souveniers.....

I finally got one off of eBay tonight for around ~$14 after all was said and done after shipping. But hey, I've got my one for the Mai Tai party in May!

Now to complete my collection I'll have to take wendypooh's advice!

Thanks for everyone's comments and suggestions - this is a great community!

For anyone that's interested... we just returned from our trip to WDW and they do in fact sell these at Bou-tiki in the Poly. I talked to a CM there about what I went through prior to this acquisition and he seemed befuddled of why someone wouldn't think they'd have those mugs to sell.

Grumble grumble.

GRRR why does it seem to be that I get to talk to the people that don't want to do their job? (referring to me actually calling the resort awhile ago and speaking with 2-3 people that said those mugs don't exist) :furious:

How much were they in the shop? Also, did you find out if you can get one with the booze in it, of course, at the lounge? Thanks!

They were $10 a piece at Bou-Tiki - or about what I was paying on eBay for them after shipping - only these were brand-spankin'-new! When we were at the lounge, we just ordered our drinks and they were served in their tiki mugs. Bou-tiki had already wrapped up the two I bought - is that what you meant?
