Tall women- clothes shopping

I buy my jeans at the Gap, the "long and lean" style work beautifully for me. Otherwise, my pants usually come from Banana Republic, the Limited, and Victorias Secret also has some tall lengths with 34 inch inseams.

I, for one, love being tall...We command attention when we walk into a room, and I always stood head and shoulders over other girls when we went out..That way guys saw ME first. Hahaha! Besides...who else can gain 30 pounds in three years and NO ONE notice?!?!

P.S. If you look at my webpage below, notice how I tower over the girls and almost see eye to eye with my hubby... He's 6'2"

I'm all legs. That's why my name is legs:teeth:

It is also such an ordeal to find a closed shoe that fits. I'm a
10 1/2.

I love being tall, too. But, it helps to have clothes that fit well so that I don't look like a goofball.

Oh, those of you with big feet should really request a catalog from longelegantlegs.com - they don't sell shoes that are smaller than a size 10. Since I have small feet I don't buy from them -- I wear a size 71/2 or 8, small for a big girl (5'10").

I am 5'9", but it's my torso that is big. I am also not petite, but my hips are small for my size...it's my post pregnancy belly that's the problem! Anyway, for tall sizes or bigger sizes (like 16 or 18) I really REALLY like Lands End. I'm so happy they carry some of their stuff at Sears now so I don't have to pay shipping. Before I gained this weight, I loved Eddie Bauer, but their 16's and 18's don't fit me as well as Lands End. Time to start exercising!

I'd like to throw my .02 in about shoes....I wore a 9 1/2 or 10 before I had my kids. Now I am an 11 wide~~~~~~~~:earseek: I HATE IT more than having to buy bigger clothes. Hate it, hate it, HATE IT! Nordstrom has a great selection but pricey. I went to the Clarks outlet store on Sunday (and was SOOO excited about it- I'm practically at the point where that is the only brand of show I buy)....yeah....tons of GORGEOUS shoes in size 10 and below!!!! i wanted to cry---they had maybe 25 pairs of size 11's, and 23 of those were clunky, thick winter boots/loafers. I wanted clogs, slides or sandals. I found one pair. My mom, who is a 7, bought 4 pair. Wah!!!!!!!!! I cannot even tell you how bummed I was. Nordies is having a shoe even for the next couple of weeks and I am going to go buy some Clarks, even if they are $20+ more than the outlets!

tall women are sexy, so are short women, also love them avergae size women

I get all my shoes from Masseys or Auditions, either on line or on the phone. Long and/or wide shoes in tons of styles, colors and brands.

I usually get Lands End clothes. Now that Sears carries LE, I was hoping they might carry talls. Nope. I still have to order on line or over the phone.

And I despise capri pants. That's what most of my pants looked like when I was a kid - and they weren't in style then.

I am very fond of clothes shopping. I have always purchased that kind of wardrobes which is unique and made up of good material. I am lucky that I found a good store near my home.

Even though this thread is over 7 years old,:rotfl:I am going to reply anyway because I LOVE Athleta.com. It is expensive but the clothing is excellent quality, fits well and washes well.

Wow, this *is* a "blast from the past" thread!! :cool1:

Gotta say that Zappos has made the problem of finding shoes soooo much better for me the past few years- I love being able to search by size to see only the styles that I can actually order, and their delivery is FAST. Helps a lot with with my size 14 son's shoes, too!

I find I do well at lands end and ll bean for casual clothes and for more dressy pants, Talbots on line and Bloomingdales.com are great.

I haven't found many retail brick and morter stores that carry tall clothes.

One on line catalogue that has great fashion but is pricey is anthropologie.com

I don't have long arms so usually I can get away with normal misses sizes.

I'm 5'10" and I've had good luck at the LOFT.

I have also found the best jeans at Kohls! They made them in "long" and they actually make me look not quite as lanky as I really am!

I have to ask why you dug up 4 old clothing threads this morning? Just curious.

I love the Gap and Old Navy. Most of my wardrobe is from there because of the great fit!

I'm 6'1" and not small, usually around an 18, I used to have luck at Lane Bryant with pants but not so much anymore. I just ordered a ton of stuff from Old Navy's tall section hopefully some of it will work out. :confused3
